How can we be a -3.5 underdog against the #8 ranked team and we are only ranked 25th? Sounds as though the the committee that ranks doesnt want to give us credit but secretly, they know we are better than being ranked 25th!

Betting lines and the committee have nothing to do with one another.

Because there is a lot of uncertainty at the beginning of every season. That's why typically its harder to win point spreads at the end of the season. For the first few weeks its great and then it tightens up as the season moves along.

Whats worse being ranked 25th or a 3.5 point dog in game 1 at a neutral site?

Things are quite a bit different at LSu vs a few years ago.

Often these rankings project based on schedule. I suspect that if we swapped schedules we'd almost swap pre-season rank. not completely. But, pretty close

Neither at this point of the season.

Bookmakers aren't concerned with rankings. You will even find lines throughout the year where the higher ranked team is an underdog.

Yes they are quite a bit different, and I for one can't wait to see this team play. For the first time in a long time we may have a real offense. Additionally, this may be up there with the best defense we have ever had. Yes, things are different, there is a lot more excitement.

No they aren't. I hope you're not being serious.
