would like to see hatcher at the other safety with loston. b. taylor needs to be coached on angles/anticipation/point of contact. (see julio jones/cap one bowl). hatcher can lay the wood. been waiting on baker for 2 yrs. love his nastiness on kick teams. downs will be the dt we need. under the radar out of bastrop. reminds me of booger (anthony macfarland, not dudley dawson)

Yeah, maybe so. The bottom line is this: You can't have a unit playing its best fundamental ball until you can convince each player to buy into the concept of trusting his teammates to do handle their own business. Hopefully the other DBs can hold their own in their 2nd year under Chavis, so that everybody trusts everyone else enough to just stay within their own responsibilities.

I think that was an isolated incident where you had a safety playing up on the line of scrimmage against a great athlete who got a quick screen pass. It's not the typical thing you need a safety for.

As for Hatcher, I don't think he's better than Taylor. I thought it was kind of strange that McCray was still getting starts at safety as late as November, but I guess it just goes to show how much both Hatcher and Taylor still had to learn.

i respect that opinion. hopefully someone fills the void and well. mccray getting a start doesnt mean shite. thats a les miles-ism. ive been bitching about mccray for 4 yrs. he played cuz he was a senior. good at run support, but cant over my wife with the aids quilt.

Yea something like that. I mean I would rather have a guy who has experience on the field and practically plays like a LB anyway. Basically a 4-2-5 is what suits our personnel best. You can say you move a safety to LB and call it a 4-3 i dont care. Just put the best players on the field

if our scheme were more aggressive, I'd like that lineup. but as it is now, we'd get handled up front.

I could see Hatcher being Chavis' hybrid LB this year... he lays the freaking wood, and he is more than qualified to cover running backs out of the backfield. Francois is just too unproven for me to fully buy into
