I am torn on this. To be frank, we are fricking stacked with talent on defense.

The only question mark coming into the season was DL, and we hit the lottery there.

Pickett has been even better than advertised, one of the best LSU CBs of all time.

The safeties are excellent even without Spears. Same for LBs without Weeks.

Every time we choke, it’s something fricking ridiculous like soft zone outside with absolutely nobody in the middle of the field against QBs that we know can move… or the infamous single file LB lineup.

To me when your base defense is statistically dominant, but you consistently choke with cute play calls in the biggest moments — that is a massive indictment of in-game coaching.

Baker may be excellent in every other facet, but he is increasingly exposing himself as a liability as a playcaller.

If the problem is just general over-pursuit on 3rd and longs… at some point it is up to the coach to address that.

The number of times I have seen the middle of the field completely void of an LSU player on a critical down and distance is far too many.
