I think Les Miles snatch Clayton. The chance of immediate playing time in a les miles offense is hard to turn down.

Not on the offensive or defensive lines his last few years. Otherwise, without a doubt.
Les never had a 3 years stretch recruiting the lines as bad as the past 3 have been. Especially on the Dline.

Y’all seem to forget that under Les we landed: Arden Key, Keke Ming’s, Sam Montgomery, Drake Nevis, Rashard Lawrence, Michael Brockers, Bennie Logan,
Ego Ferguson and others.

It was time for Les to go but the narrative that he was a “scared” recruiter is retarded. Dude landed Jamal Adams, Patrick Peterson, Arden Key and other studs out of state.

Les was an excellent recruiter but the recruiting along the lines was slipping before he left.

Les did great, but to clarify Arden Key-- it was Ogeron who recruited him...

Lol who hired Ed? So Ed doesn’t get credit for Stingley now? I mean Raymond recruited him.

And if Ed gets credited for the recruits on the Dline those years does he also get credited with he misses?

When was the last time we closed with 3-4 elite delineman and multiple really good olineman, as you put it?

Your optimism is cool, i guess.

Les did recruit very well but most of the guys you named were here years ago. Logan and Lawrence are great but they are 2 players. We should be able to name 8 or so great players on the lines of scrimmage at any given time if recruiting is going well for us. And Les didn't do a very good job of recruiting linebackers either. Although he did land Devin. We simply must upgrade on the lines, hopefully Coach O will! Geaux Tigers

Loves LSU, but doesn't love our stacked running back by committee, and he's made it clear multiple times.
Some other RB that LSU was after in the past said the same, I forget who, but these kids need to realize that college is a different animal. They think that they can do in college what they are doing right now in high school, and they are always in for a very rude awakening when they get the slot knocked out of them from the speed of the game and all the huge bodies flying around. (Chris Curry found that out last season when he could do very little) It's in their best interest to run by committee because of health issues, I give Les Miles credit on this because he would always preach this to the RB's that he was recruiting, running by committee to keep their bodies healthy and fresh for the long road ahead (The NFL). So, Ashaad Clayton-Johnson needs to wake up!

Les did a great job continuing what Saban started, Miles also locked down LA like nobody. He would go outside every now and then getting great players from other states, but it was mostly LA players that he beefed up LSU's roster with. I'm not complaining about that, I'm just saying because LA players are some of the best in the country. But what I'm noticing about Orgeron is that he's making a great effort to recruit nationally like no one ever did before, he's taking the LSU brand nationwide and rightfully so because it's about time that people in LA recognize that LSU is a well known powerhouse across the USA.
