Slow I think posters think spread equal UF offense

his spread has evolved basically the past 2 years into his own type of spread option where he has no running back

quote:

OSU certainly hasn't run an Urban Meyer type offense IMO

2005 and 2006 they ran a spread option with troy smith. and they had some speed, esp in 2005

they do need more agile OL though

troy smith
ted ginn (4.35)
santonio holmes (4.35)
anthony gonzalez (4.38)
michael pittman (4.45)

yeah, NO SPEED in 2005. they don't compare to arrelious benn, who prolly runs a 4.55

one thing i noticed is he is good friends with davenport and jenkins, who is undecided. i think that will help campbell think about LSU.

he gives about a 2 minute interview on tigerbait that he eliminated michigan, will choose between florida, LSU, and miami (no leader), he is friends with davenport and jenkins who might be a florida recruit, and he will decide at the game.

Exact quote from Campbell when discussing the possibility of him and Davenport both playing for LSU - "If all goes well, I'll probably most likely be down there."

you said that OSU didn't have the speed of these 3

OSU had better quality athletes and faster guys than these 3

you speak of rich rod as if he's bringing a novelty. he did, after 1998 when he basically told northwestern how to run the spread option. that's when it all started in the big10. and purdue's been running the spread there for even longer

no, you said tOSU has been for years... plodders like Beanie Wells and Todd Boekman suggest otherwise

Great scenario for LSU, WC would just be icing on top of the cake for this year.

Like Books said, not a loss if we dont get him because no one expected to get him, but having him and CD inside would be scary.

Things are getting better closer to signing day, and LSUs class is going to be disgusting it seems.

since when has beanie ever been a "plodder"

?

he looks to be a back who runs in the 4.4s

quote:

and Todd Boekman

they had no other option last year and he got benched quickly this year in favor of a true freshman

fyi, UF won a national title with plodders like deshawn wynn and chris leak starting fort hem

effective and fast once he gets running down hill, but his quickness and burst are not what he is known for

he is a great back just like many good RBs to come out of the Big 10... when you suggest that the Big 10 doesn't have speed it has little to do with 40 times... we all know these programs recruit RBs who can run 4.5 and sub-4.5 40s...

quickness and burst are the difference when many compare the Slow 10 to other faster conferences like the SEC

their speed was on defense that year ..look what they did to your boy Jamarcus's offense and every other offense they faced that year... they were too fast for tOSU ON DEFENSE in that national title game

and he's quick for a 230 lb back

and certain teams produce athletes...michigan and OSU

where they have problems is in the trenches

UM had great athletes long before they considered hiring rich rod as their coach. just look at all the UM players in the NFL

speed to me isn't defined by 40 time ..you were talking about your definition, I was talking about mine

Wisconsin has a lot of guys who run 4.4 and 4.5 ....yet we all know Florida is a "faster team", not only by 40 times but by quickness, burst, etc.

actually, Jake Long was the #1 pick... we all know that the Big 10 is much stronger in the trenches than the SEC... the SEC is just faster

never said they did not ...speed style was the suggestion I made

also, many of their great athletes with 4.5 speed or under were not cat-quick and full of burst

did you watch the last 2 title games? the SEC won both years due to the athletic difference on the line

how did they ever put WRs in the NFL?

speed and athleticism aren't the same as size and strength

I bet tOSU's O-Line was bigger and would dominate in the weight room against LSU's or UF's D-Lines those two years

because size matters more in that league..it's a different game

it goes along with that Julio Jones/Percy Harvin thread the other day... Jones will probably be the better pro if he remains healthy but Harvin's burst and quickness makes him the more valuable college player
