Why would we only sign 20 recruits next year?

I was over on the SEC rant and saw someone post that he didn't see us signing more than 20 recruits in the 2011 class. Why would this be?
I figured with attrition and transfers we would atleast be able to sign 25.

We'd have to send alot packing if we sign a full 25. But if the talent is there,we kick the others to the curb.Its how Saban built Bama so fast. We will have to keep up.

Miles doesnt usually kicked players off the team...some will transfer due to the depth chart

84 scholarship players currently-17 seniors=67 scholarship players heading into 2010.
67+27 new signees=94 scholarship players
94-10 transfers/dismissals/early entry/etc=84 scholarship players for 2010
84 scholarship players-10 seniors (assuming Hicks transfers this year and goes somewhere else)=74
74-10 transfers/dismissals/early entry/etc=64 scholarship players for 2011 and 21 signees for 2011.
With an extra transfer or two, you get to 23.

Boise St. only has 6 verbals: one 4-star, four -3-stars, and a 2-star DB.
I read an article saying Boise could ony sign five recruits this year. Looks like they found space for one more.

How you only sign 6 in a year is just amazing to me. But then again I read somewhere that Saban had a class of 10 one year at LSU.

They only lose one scholarship senior starter on both sides of the ball this year IIRC..so that's how haha
