Seriously stars do mean a lot but theres greeat players out there every year that arent ranked that high that are really good players and im sure coaches dont scan ESPN to do there recruiting. So basically I think 5 star, 4 star, 3 star or no stars it how you develop at the next level not how you played against high school compitition or how you did in a try-out.
Yep. Ohio St's had plenty of productive 5* players (such as Pryor, Clarett, Boone, Ginn, Beanie, Whitner, etc), but we've had a lot of 3* and lower guys contribute, (such as Hawk, JL, Malcolm Jenkins, Mangold (who was a 1*), and many more). Troy Smith was a 4*, but wasn't the highest ranked QB from the 02 class coming in (Justin Zwick was).
So you have to take recruiting rankings with a little grain of salt.
