Same reason Texas has

Texas is a recruiting hot bed, so they can afford to lose a few big in state guys. They already have a 5 star qb for next year. We can't afford to lose the best player in the state every year.

On that note, we have no idead where RR is going. Let's just wait and see.

Probably because of all the negatives remarks made about them on this board. Some of the comments being posted on here about RR is so assanine. Why wouldn't he look elsewhere? For the love of God show the young man some love.

So you're saying that getting some top players in states like Texas, Florida, Georgia, Mississipi, and even Michigan with the likes of Shepard, Toliver, Peterson, Lee, Hebert, Barksdale, and RJF doesnt make up for the very few big time in-state players we might lose to another team? That's ridiculous....top notch players are able to choose from almost any school in any state in America. Maybe they want to get away from Louisiana and their parents to do a little growing up. It happens.

and contrary to popular belief, not everyone in LA is an LSU fan

This.

And, this happens to every school. USC did not land the #1 recruit in CA last year. Texas will not land the #1 recruit in TX this year. No Florida school landed the state's best player last year, either. It happens.
