Neither of them run 4.3's
They are both fast, Quinn being faster, but high school numbers are always off.
a 4.35 usually means a low 4.4 or something close to that.
Trindon Hollidays official time at the NFL combine was only a 4.34 and he is one of the fastest guys in the world.

I see that Quinn has some good weight on him as an incoming freshman. How does he do after the first hit? Is he a guy that has good speed and goes down on initial contact or does he break a lot of tackles and drag guys?

This article lists a 100 meter time of 10.4 for Quinn. I don't know if that is accutrack or hand held but that's fast regardless.

quinn is faster but LF will have a lot more inertia.

I don't disagree with this, generally, but Quinn ran a 10.4 100m at a track meet, even hand timed that is "scalded dog" fast.
Likewise, LF (at 220ish) running a 10.68 100m, also at a track meet (these are not workouts with a quick friendly thumb on a stop watch) implies he ran either (or both) 50m split in 5.35 - which on pace to cover 40 meters (not yards) in under 4.3 seconds.
So, it is difficult to decipher what the standing start, 40 yard time ought to be with these hundred meter times - again, a long strider like Quinn will run the last 60 meters much faster than the first 40, while LF may accelerate more quickly to maximum speed and run more even splits (which was the case with Holliday - his top speed, while fast, was probably a quarter-gear off of elite - however, he got to maximum speed much more quickly and that made him competitive up to 100 meters - he was brutally fast at 60m, one of the fastest ever).
In any event, if these are hand timed numbers - your skepticism is probably valid. A hand-timed 4.35 is probably 4.39 to 4.42 (which is still very, very fast for a 200 pounder).
Likewise, LF, even at 4.45 with his agility, size and strength, is quite fast for a power back.

(Plus he anchored a sub 39 second 4x100 -
ETA: Was unofficially timed as fast as 4.27 in the 40, and 6.27 seconds over 55m. Also a state long jump finalist (finished second).
Truly an amazing athlete - if his legs were just 2 inches longer, he'd probably be the fastest man in history (maybe second to Bolt).

An article by James Smith at Nola.com states, "He runs a consistent 4.4-second 40-yard dash. There is no doubt that his size and speed combination is elite. When you factor in his explosive burst and lateral quickness, it is easy to see why Fournette boasts more than 100 scholarship offers." But that article is from October 2012.

Then they came right back and said he will basically blow past you or some stupid shite like that
I guess they had to list some kind of weakness for him.

Ed Paris has to run a low 4.4 or even a 4.3?
Posted on 1/22/14 at 3:49 pm to Gumb0
4.4 or 4.5? If a 4.4 corner or safety takes one misstep, he'll never catch up with a 4.5 receiver (or running back). That's why instinct is as important as speed.

Yeah I noticed that, I've been watching him play/playing against him for a while, I'd say he runs a high 4.4 or low 4.5
a 10.7 100m and his 6.7 60m fall in line with sub 4.5, but not solid 4.4. it varies depending on burst, quickness v speed, etc, but lf is a solid 4.5 guy, which means he runs just under a 4.5. not some kid who ran a 4.58 once with his high school coach timing him and goes around thinking he runs a 4.5.
that being said, quinn looks faster in a straight line than lf from watching videos, so im sure quinn probably has better 40 and 100m times.

This is where I'm at Hook.
"Mediocre" track team times, plus #1 RB in the country skills, plus 225 pounds (or thereabouts) = tackling a locomotive for opposing defenses.

He also ran a 4.21 unofficial which is one of the fastest times clocked at the combine, official or not.
I'd say Fournette is around a 4.42, Quinn is likely a 4.42 also.

It is not even close in football speed: IE- short, quick sprints, Quinn wins every time!
