Whenever a top recruit leaves the state, I am reminded of Janzen Jackson.

And I remember that, no matter how many stars you put next to a name, sometimes it is best that they stay away from your program.

We don't need the mean streets of Welsh in our locker room.

What a screw up.

I honestly don't think that would have happened to him, had he came to LSU. He probably got in with a bad group up there since he didn't know anyone and it escalated from there. At LSU he would have been close to home and would have known a lot more people. A lot more people would have been looking out for him...

I don't have a problem with a top recruit leaving the state. I have a problem with ANY recruit jerking LSU around like Janzen Jackson did. Karma gave that fricker what he deserved. And I don't know anything about Welsh, but I can guarantee you that it isn't any worse than the South Florida neighborhoods that Demetrius Byrd, Dwayne Bowe, Ricky Jean-Francois and Patrick Peterson came from.

well there must be a side of Welsh i haven't seen. Used to be a pretty laid back place to go duck and goose hunting and buy some home made tamles, boudin, or cracklin from the locals.

Whenever a "fan" tries to protest his hatred for Les miles by refusing to go to LSU games, and sitting on his tickets, its best that they stay away from your program, and definitely off the recruiting board.

Like a lot more people were looking out for Tyrann Mathieu?

Some things just fall on the person's shoulders.

tyrann would have been better off, personally, leaving the state just liek janzen did. they both have terrible influences back home with "friends" heavy into the drug scene.

and in college, your friends generally trump your parents

If I'm not mistaken what JJ did up at UT was much worse then smoking pot all the time. If I had to guess, most of the football players in America that play on the college level smoke pot at some point in College. TM just happened to get caught and then wouldn't wise up that they are going to be testing him more after that.

The robbery thing is what stuck out to me. To me, it was a lot worse then pot smoking even if all he did was watch his buddy rob someone.
