you made that thread yet on Auburnsports.com?
No. You can't link me to the article, therefore you cannot cite it as a source. If you want to ask Auburn fans about to existence of the article, you go ask about it on Auburnsports.com. You have the burden of proof here. You claimed that article existed and it gave you a certain (false) statistic. Either provide the article, or stop referring to it as the truth.

I dont know the percentages, but alot of the college students lived in trailor parks when my buddies went to school there. I would hope more apt. complexes have been built since then.
With that said, when I came to visit LSU, I noticed alot of cattle within about 1 mile of campus, so I guess it all evens out
I know its an A&M school, but do they have to keep the stinky cows that close?

If the paper does not archive, how is it reasonable to request that he produce the article?

He has been citing that article as a source that proves that 60-70% of Auburn's population lives in a mobile home.
The actual U.S. Census Bureau says that only 7.6% of all the housing units in Auburn are a mobile home. I have a linkable source, and he doesn't. My source is the U.S. Census Bureau, his alleged source is a newspaper article.
Basically, my percentage is correct, and his percentage is hogwash.

Are you claiming the article never existed?
The largest employers in the Auburn area are Auburn University itself, the city of Auburn school system, East Alabama Medical Center, the city of Opelika school system and Southern Union Community College
You have lost your mind if you think school teachers, college professors, doctors, and nurses live in a bunch of trailers

I'm not reading this thread, I just want to go on record as saying Auburn has a great stadium, awesome pregame traditions, perfect unis and the second best fight song in the SEC.

Per Money Magazine in comparing Baton Rouge LA and Auburn al
Median(Average)household Income:
Baton Rouge: 45,164
Auburn: 58,059
Average Home Prices
Baton Rouge: 170,000
Auburn: 398,000
*Usually houses in rural areas are cheaper than houses in the city. Auburn home values are double than BR's
Education; Bama, Louisiana are at the bottom of the list in regards to education
Baton Rouge test scores reading: 14% below state average (wow)
Auburn test scores reading:7 % above state average
Crime
BR is 7 most deadliest city per capita
BR's personal crime incidents is 4x the number in Auburn.
So if you live in Auburn, you're more likely to make more money, have a better education, live ina more expensive house, live in a city with MUCH lower crime rate
No wonder people who have actually been to Auburn says good things about the city, whereas the peoople in this thread sh@tting on Auburn has never stepped one foot in the city.

I sure hope this answers the dude's question.

yes, the terms crime ridden, democrat infested, sub-par educational system, lower standard of living, and poverty describe both Baton Rouge and Tuscaloosa.... Throw in Jimmy John's ability to make it snow on command Tuscaloosa definately has it's perks compared to that data you supplied from the census and Fortune Mag !!!!
By the way, LSU has a nice campus and fun atmosphere... However, i have no desire to live in BR....
Tuscaloosa has the game day atmosphere of a flea market, odor of a tire plant, and more democrats congregated in one area than should be allowed !!!

I have been to Auburn several times and i will say they have a beautiful campus. The school itself is in the middle of nowhere but the campus and overall atmosphere make of for that. I always thought of it as a much better place to visit knowing you can leave anytime you want to though.

the north side really throws the BR quality of living stats out of wack. East BR parish has many nice neighborhoods. There are many very nice areas of BR, eg Kenilworth, Sherwood Forest, Broadmoor, on and on. Many nice neighboring places also like Zachary and Denham Springs.

I was coming to look for this topic just to post that link. Yeah, Auburn is the definition of a hick town

But really, you can't fault SFP, he is merely going on secondhand information that paints Auburn in a bad light. However, the fallacy in that is that I could find loads of other secondhand information that paints Auburn in a good light (such as the link above).
The problem with Maximus is that he just hates Auburn, can't admit when he is wrong or has misguided information, and lets the aforementioned hate of Auburn cloud his judgment on anything regarding the university or city.

How did a thread about Auburn go 17 pages?

a select few in this thread made it seem like Auburn is complete trash as a city even though they've never been there

In my mind, those two things are quite synonymous.
