More than the stats, more than awards, more than the new look offense, more than anything else Joe has shown what LSU and its players mean to Louisiana to the rest of the country. That has to be appealing to top tier talent. I’m sure kids from out of state see how he was embraced and how he became apart of the culture. He really became a legend in the state. He was accepted in the way that only Louisiana could accept someone. I hope other recruits look at that and that makes them want to come here.

it APPEARS that recruiting is going great but I ain't sayin' nothin' till we sign 'em.

there is more drama in the last days before signing day than a middle school girls locker room.

Interesting take. I know we were just CB’d Caleb Williams, our best quarterback recruit since Periloux.

This is such a great point. I know other states embrace awesome players but it's different in Louisiana. It's cliche but it really does mean more here. This season showed that in so many ways. Especially after the bama game. Seeing how much it meant to Coach O and the team, I think a lot of people around the country became Tiger fans that night.

Please don't remind us of Periloux - what a tragedy his life turned into. I guess it proves you can take a kid out of the 'hood but hard sometimes to take the hood out of him!

I so admire Honey Badger's discipline to make it after some bad decisions made it look like he was on the same bad road!!

Same bad road for smoking weed?!
Gimme a break. A TON of college players smoke weed, most just don't get caught. Hell, over half of the NFL smokes weed, and that's been confirmed by multiple players around the league.

I could literally name hundreds of “legal” things that are worse than weed, but if some misinformed politicians say it’s bad...
