I think we as fans, for some reason, greatly exaggerate what we know as "fast." If you don't run in the low 4.4's then you don't have the speed necessary to make it in the NFL or even SEC. That's just now true. The last two years, you've had 60 backs attend the combine. Of those 60, something like 5 of them ran UNDER a 4.45. Only another 12 ran under a 4.5 in general.

Lots of great talent evaluators here, but I'll trust the coaches at places like Clemson, Miami, Michigan, USC Auburn along with LSU since they all offered either one or both of these prospects. I do enjoy reading all the scouting reports here though. Very informative.

think Jarvis Landry ran a 4.77.
Uh, he's a eeciever...hands and good routes make up for slower 40s (to a point)
4.7 is slow for a rb in certain offenses

Was a longtime DB for the Kansas City Chiefs, not a RB, though he did break tackles on interception returns.
Highly respected Asst Coach in theNFL now, btw.

Don't think I remember anyone catching Fournette from behind at 4.51. IMHO, I think 4.6 is totally adequate.
