I think LSU was strongly considered, I think his decision was when Pete Carrol had that conf. call with Bush, McNight, and himself.... don't ya'll remember, he even said in his press conf. that coach Carrol got reggie on the phone.

To say NEVER, thats kind of a stretch.

Like I said...............if Saban would have been the coach that year, wasn't Loux going to Texas? Only changed to stay in-state when Miles came.

McKnight is/was an anomoly.

Then you'd be wrong....he was saying LSU sucks at the LHSSA State Championships.

Also, a few more guys that Saban lost out on....

Brent Rawls.....QB to OU
Jason Mitchell......LB to UT
Brandon Jacobs......RB to JUCO and AU
Nick Harris........SS to OU

Just to name a few....

How it worked out is irrelevant. He was one of the top recruits in the country, and Saban could not hold on to him.

I agree it didn't necessarily work out but I was answering your question.

All said and done Miles has only lost McKnight and that I think we all agree might have been hard even for Saban. I think when its all said and done, lets look at it this way. We got the #1 player in Florida last year. This year it could be number 1 from Louisiana, Georgia, Utah, Texas (more than one of the top 5), and when it's all said and done I believe we are gonna go deep in the process with Holloman from SC, Hall from Ohio, and Debose from Florida. All top couple players in their states. We are entering the national stage under Miles.

Yeah we all have to agree Saban brought us to the stage. But now we're takin over the stage and becoming a player year after year under miles.

that is true, very good point,

I guess I'm just thinking about what got LSU to where we are now, and thats lock in the great athletes of LA, and then get solid players from other states

but I guess we are at the USC level and can go out and get anyone in the country, so really good point.

Something to think about is that some kids want to get out of town... and see the world. I LOVE Louisiana but some kids want to go out of state to get new experiences. I wouldn't understand Bama, but I could understand a 18yr/o wanting to spend 4 yrs at MIAMI!

LSU did not offer Harris. I bet Randle becomes a Tiger!

bythe way when i said leaning toward bama i meant the game not the school.

my brother aaron's birthday was this week and there are plans for the family this weekend. thats what i meant by leaning towards bama, the game not the school.

i just read that and could see how it may sound so wanted to clear that up

I still don't see the reason for you to explain yourself and whatever is going on behind closed doors to anyone.

I've said it numerous times. No one will ever be 100% sure about what's going on with Ruben unless they are next to him constantly. Keeping up with recruiting is nothing but speculation and basically trying to put pieces of a puzzle together. Keeps people guessing. That's what makes it so interesting, imo. But if they pay attention to things you have said (which hasn't been much), to what's being reported on the recruiting sites, and from his quotes, and a couple other things, some people wouldn't feel so negatively about him.

Of course, I'm not saying for a fact that he's heading to LSU because, again, it's all speculation and I know recruiting can change daily....but I for one, can only feel pretty good about where he'll end up. I could be wrong, but that's where I stand at the moment until something drastically changes, if anything.

It's good to read your posts around here though. Stick around, even after Rueben signs wherever he's going to sign.
