LSU offered Whit Weeks 247

Anyone heard if we're after his brother? West Weeks played LB as a freshman at Virginia and is in the portal 247

Looks like he played a lot in the 2nd half of the year and against ND

His highlights are from his sophomore year, and he looks pretty damned good. He's playing both sides of the ball, but I'd imagine they would want him on defense at LSU. The kid looks like a physical player with good speed and instincts.

Well...we have a different coaching staff, so...maybe not that much of a sell.

As much as I want to say I want West Weeks I just can’t convince myself into it. Just watched an entire game in which he started against Va Tech this season, and he was completely terrible outside of one sack that wouldn’t have happened if VaTechs OL was competent.

He seems to be pretty athletic, but he’s not very strong, doesn’t have good pursuit, can’t shed a block to save his life, and looks lost 99% of the time like 2020 Damone.

Take a look for yourself. He started the game and wears #33. Got pulled in the 3rd quarter after letting up another big run up the middle.
UVA vs VATech 2021

I’ll get downvoted to hell for this post, but seriously watch that video and skip to all the defensive plays he was in on and then report back. Yes I know he was only a freshman but I can’t see this guy getting much better going from ACC to SEC

I agree with you. He plays flat footed and high pad level. Slow diagnosis of play and over pursuit.

Depending on what class he is, he can be coached out of that. He is a big, solid lb that has potential if he is an underclassman

I feel like we can do better than weeks.

I'd rather an upperclassman at linebacker anyway.

My thought process when I made this thread: Why did we offer this kid? He doesn't look sec caliber.. Oh his brother is in the portal.
