Bourque's Activities via Mike Coppage

... Davante' Bourque just departed from the LSU campus. Spending the night in Breaux Bridge with cousin Kavahra Holmes and LSU commit Travin Dural. He's returning to Baton Rouge tomorrow and will reportedly work out for RBs coach Frank Wilson.

Someone let me know what color tie he wears to school on some early day in February. I'll either get excited or say "well damn hope he does well and if we see him it's a conference game or for something special", either way I'll twist a lid cause that's how I hanlde the highs and lows!

I got nothing to add... who the frick knows what will happen with 17 year old kids.

All I know is I got whiskey drunk waiting for the Baseball game, and ended up with a mostly cloudy mind, this retarded thread and a 100% chance of a solid hangover for work in the morning.

frick you mother nature.

Honestly not really surprising. TAMU isn't going to take who LSU wants in Louisiana.

I was at LSU camp awile to go see two of my players Cody Jones and Darius Poullard. When i walked in the Coach from Crowley noticed me and we started talking and he called Devante over. So he and I started talking so i asked him if he was still going to Texas A&M and he said nah that he liked being at LSU.

So youre a high school football coach?

Great news BTW, but 17 year olds change their minds literally once every 20 minutes when it comes to recruiting.

It sounds like he's spending a lot of time telling either the the kid or his dad how little Les cares about his players.

Somebody is definitely drilling that into their heads.

I see you called me out later so I'll pick on you a bit here. :)

Is it possible that the kid is making his own judgement and isn't being fed crap from either side? If you read my earlier posts in this thread, my point was that Les' message to Bourque is illogical. He offered him at WR, and then months later after he committed to A&M as a RB he told Bourque that he was LSU's sole running back recruit. Does that not seem odd to you?

I know if I were an LSU fan I would say "yeah man, makes complete sense", but if you take a step back you have to admit it's inconsistent.

If I'm a recruit and a coach changes his tune on me after I commit to another school I may have my doubts about how he sees me playing into his game plan.

I posted on here a lot before the Cotton Bowl and had a pretty good rapport w/ you guys. I didn't just suddenly turn into a jackass. I like LSU and y'all's fans a lot. All I'm saying is that Miles' recruitment of Bourque is confounding.

NO, it doesn't seem odd. Have you ever thought that another RB Les was after fell out of favor or is leaning towards someone besides LSU and Les has pulled back and decided to focus on the best in-state rb he likes?

As you said, kids change their minds alot. So maybe someone else on Les' board changed his mind.....

But seriously, very very very few schools have a shot at taking talent out of Louisiana that LSU goes after hard, and A & M isn't one of them. Hint: you better have a title in the last 3 yrs...

He did the same thing with Odell Beckham Jr. last year and happens a lot all over. Nothing confounding about it at all. You typed out a whole lot there and didn't really show much

I read on this board that Miles said he thought Bourque wanted to be a wide receiver and that's why he offered him as one. Someone else posted a quote from Bourque saying that he was cool w/ Miles recruiting him as a WR. I figure he's cool w/ being recruited as a WR by Miles if he doesn't actually want to go to LSU. LA-Monroe could recruit him as an offensive lineman and he'd probably be cool with that too. It's a non-issue.

I'm saying if I were a recruit and Coach A offered me what I wanted, I committed to Coach A, and then Coach B came back and offered me what I originally wanted, I wouldn't be very happy about that.

All that said - who the crap knows what these people are actually thinking? That's what makes it kinda fun.
