And yes, I think Luper and company are really playing with Reed's emotions to get him to Auburn. I realize it's recruiting and you have to find an angle but they're really crossing into the realm of totally insensitive I think.

Hate to see a high profile in state player leave, but if he doesn't want to be at LSU that's fine. I think Fobbs has the highest ceiling of any receiver in the state. But now beginning to wonder if he (Fobbs) wants to be at LSU, since Boone is coming in for a visit.

You can never give up on any recruit, no matter what. You never know what's gonna happen that may lead them to change their mind. While he's still firm to AU, and probably won't change, if you can get a kid on campus for an official, that's big.
If you want to see what giving up on recruits and just settling for what you can get will do to a program, look at Tubs post 2004. His best class after that was the 2007 class which had Burns, Ziemba, McNeil, and Pugh. How many of those guys have been solid contributors? You can never give up on a kid.

Best thing an Auburn poster has said to my recollection.

Reed is better than Tolliver, you have to be kidding

i agree that reed will be better than toliver. toliver is probably faster but reed is much better in the open field and is just a more dynamic athlete IMO.

First of all. If we're debating who Reed is better than we need to get straight which one we mean (or if we mean both, Toliver and Tolliver).
I think he could be better than Tolliver but I'll have to see it to believe he's better than Toliver.
Also, I've heard Miles screwed up the recruitment. What happened? Can Wilson make things up?

CT was viewed as more of a "must have" by LSU his SR year. . .and he was #1 in the state as well.
Both 6.0 4-stars.
Both listed as 4.4. CT had better size. We sweated CT going to Bama, not so much Reed to the Barn.

I still think it's gonna hurt with Reed leaving the state for y'all though. Not being a homer here, but keeping in state talent in state is HUGE in recruiting. And it always seems to me that you hear more about the kids that left and how things would be different if they stayed in state than the kids who stay.
Not from me, but if Reed turns out to be amazing, you're going to here from Auburn fans for years about how you let him get away.

Oh, I have. And it's impressive. But you've still got to do that every year. It hurt Auburn when we didn't do it for a few years, or let them go to Bama.

We may here about Reed but will not miss him a bit.Programs move on with the players on the team.We heard about jackson from Tennessee fans and he's a good player but we don't/won't miss him on the field.
