Interesting video about our new recruit. This dates back 3 years. Wade recruited him based on his AAU performance. He never played High School ball.

Wade is fairly confident he will get immediate eligibility. Let's hope so.
He is a physical freak. He is a legitimate 7'1" tall with a 7'7" wingspan. His standing vertical reach is 9'7". He also has put on some bulk and is around 245#.
He seems to have good footwork and coordination for a guy his size. He should provide great rim protection and rebounding.
A very exciting addition to the Tigers!!

I am a big advocate for this kid. I love watching his AAU and travel ball clips. I think Wade will help him unlock his full potential because this kid has a very high ceiling. Bryan Penn-Johnson just needs confidence and more time to adjust to the college game. I think that's why Wade will unleash him fully and not simply just use him as a role player.

Kid will be in the NBA soon, he has all the tools. A big with nice athletic ability, blocks shots with aggression too. A hope he gives LSU and Wade at least 2 seasons and develop a lil bit.

You must not watch much basketball. You can’t average 1 pt a game, develop a little but, and be in NBA soon. He’s got a long way to go to even start at LSU.

What? If he’s eligible he’s likely going to start at LSU! WTF are you talking about? He played with scrubs like Zion and Smart........
Come on

Chris Johnson? Because he’s tall? Chris was one of our better 3 point shooters. Dude could stroke.

He appeared coordinated and smooth, with touch. I see no reason he can't develop into a good player, with coaching.
It depends upon is dedication to his craft.

Very nice video. He could contribute in a KBW type way before he leaves. Hate the Hiare not here to work with him.

How do you not start at Washington yet start at a much better and deeper program like LSU. Look at his scoring per 40 minutes and fouls per 40 minutes averages. Yes he is a great shot blocker but has a lot of room to improve on O and defense in general. 7’1” in high school is not same as it is in college. KBW was a big player at Oregon before transferring but we shall see.

Washington, most likely, was just not a seamless fit for him. When you are used sparingly it is very hard to get a feel or even rhythm for the game. Imagine that for a whole 2 seasons. Something about this kid just oozes hidden gem (he was the #1 player in Utah). That's why I really hope Wade just lets BPJ play (don't give him some situational role); watch his AAU and travel ball clips and his documentary. He needs to be on the court (to gain confidence) and just needs to be taught to rebound with passion (which is becoming a staple at LSU). His offensive game should get better over time, but envision the putback dunks, alley-oops, and post play. I think the LSU fanbase will accept him and he will flourish as Wade makes an effort to put him in situations where he can dominate.

Guys that tall and long often have huge jumps in play, see Jaxson Hayes as a recent example. Happens all the time, you may be right, but just as likely wrong. Here's hoping you are wrong
