5 star quarterbacks RARELY recommit after picking a school. It's the quarterbacks responsibility to help recruit the playmaker around them. Doesn't make sense to flip to a school last minute.
People will bring up Raiola, but he had a ton of family connections to Nebraska. His dad played there and his uncle is on staff. Rhule has started to right the ship there and they stepped up and played the NIL game with the big boys. UGA seemed to be happy enough with the guy they signed to not get into a bidding war to keep him. So his situation definitely has some factors that don’t apply anywhere else.

trautI refuse to celebrate fully until the ink is on the paper. I’ll relish in the PR glory for LSU but, in today’s climate, a verbal means very little to an 17-18 year old athlete. A lot can happen in a year.
I agree to an extent. But I am also not gonna complain about the #1 QB, WR and RB in the country committing to LSU.
Sure nothing is official until the LOI is signed, but this is better than these guys verbally committing to a different school.

quote:facts! It’s so bad that the word ‘commit’ has an entirely new meaning. I seriously think they need to start using another word to describe a player’s preliminary decision.

and yet here you are. you are the worst type of fan. if you can't enjoy the moment, recruiting isn't for you. go take your husband to a movie or something and enjoy Jan 6th. The rest of us certainly are.

While usually I’d agree, quarterbacks barring coaching change is different. Everybody goes after the number 1 guy… once he commits they change their focus on the one they can get. Berry being a Louisiana guy seems pretty solid and then receiver from Duncanville ( lsu strong hold) seems set to be a tiger. This isn’t pulling a CB or receiver from say the west coast or northeast we never really had a connection with.

It brings a ton of positive exposure

If you had a choice, would you be happier if he he had committed to Michigan or Alabama knowing that there was a chance that he might not actually sign with one of them?
