Florida would have arse-raped USC in 2006 and 2008. If Sam Bradford couldn't get it done, there's no way in hell Mark "Dirty" Sanchez would have.

USC might have gotten it done against LSU in 2007. LSU was defensively-challenged that year. Then again, with a loss to Stanford, I'm not convinced the Trojans had much heart that year.

Purely hypothetical.

Means nothing.

Because being favored in the National Championship Game means nothing if you don't win.

Ask Ohio St.
Ask Oklahoma.
Ask USC.

Only when injured. And that didn't stop us from beating your team, either.

ETA: We had the #3 defense in the country that year, btw. It was 1 OSU 2 USC 3 LSU.

Just for your info, because you seem to be confused about this matter.

Htat is just because mnc's in college football are so subjective. The 2 best teams rarely meet. If we had some sort of playoff then USC would have a few more national championships without a doubt. They would have been favored over a 11-1 Florida and 12-0 Ohio State in 06' after losing their last game to UCLA and being 10-2? Were they even favored over fricking Michigan?

Yes, we were favord over Michigan. But I am talking a game after the bowls, a plus 1 scenario. Either way though. Neither LSu nor UF would likely beat USC in a bowl game those seasons. USC would at least have gone 2-1.

All of the "if's" and "would have's" make my head hurt.

It's like listening to Jim Mora all over again having his annual meltdown over a loss.

Like I said before, hypotheticals mean nothing when compared to reality.

And it's usually the loser who deals in hypotheticals.

It was some dumb LSu fan who brought this whole thing up in the first place. Talking about mythical titles and such.

Sure, Florida just completely dismantled an undefeated Ohio State team while also having a better record. Let's throw out all logic whatsoever, USC would have been favored.

We put up 38 points on the #1 defense in the country. USC had the #2.

I don't think LSU would had any trouble putting up points on USC that year.

Ohio st. went to the mnc game as there was nobody else. they managed there way through a very, very weak schedule. If you truly think they were better thatn USC, then there is no point in even continuing.

I'm not arguing who's the better team, not a fan of discussing past match-ups. All I'm saying is USC lost to two very mediocre teams and Florida had a better record and destroyed the team that was widely believed to be the best team in the nation, and thus will be favored.

It's completely pointless to discuss who would win a hypothetical playoff.

Florida beat LSU up and down the field that year for three and a half quarters. In the end, the refs gave LSU the victory by adding an extra yard to a 4th down, Jacob Hester carry that was stopped short.

Without the zebras in your back pockets that year, you lose to Florida and never even sniff the title game.

That's why both of your supposed titles this decade are kind of a joke.

I think the real question that needs to be asked is "what loser team is going to beat USC this year?"

A game is 4 quarters

Sure, when the refs aren't doing a little home cookin'. When the refs are giving the home team favorable spots, the game is as long as they need it to be to produce the desired result.

That's why LSU's 2007 title isn't legit.

Wow.

Even more "what if's" and "could'ves".

Simply loser talk--nothing more.
