As far as top 25 in the nation.

Sports Illustrated listed him as a star of the future.. he was the only HS Football Player mentioned.

That's some pretty serious praise from a national publication.

if you avg. 16 per catch in high school, that no. will be 10 - 15 at college. not bashing Landry I think he is outstanding (top 4 in a loaded state) but he does not appear to be a big yardage receiver or a 5 star.

I'm gonna have to disagree. He's got 5* written all over him.. just because he is a play maker. You don't score 20% of the time you catch a pass when you're middle of the road.

five stars on scout - (top 50 players) yes
five star on rivals - (top 31 players) ?????

mike davis is currently averaging over 20 yards per catch and has 12 td on app. 40 receptions.

stats along won't get it. the top receivers the last few years on rivals, tolliver 6'4, j. jones
6'4, randle 6'3, prater 6'5. you need elite measureables or speed.

If you see some of the amazing catches that Landry makes you would shut it. He is hands down the best reciever this state has produced in a long time.

Uh, comments about speed.
Would the one who mentioned 4.7 care to know what Dalton Hilliards time was in the 40?
40 speed does not make a running back.
Eyes, lateral speed, agility, balance and many other factors come far above 40 speed.

Only and idiot would measure a running back in 40 time.

He's got 3 blue-chip attributes, IMO.

Agility, Ball-skills, Strength.

Randy Moore, Scout: “..got open and consistently caught the ball..He showed the strength to beat press coverage and out battle defensive backs on jump balls .. he looks college-ready right now.”

Ball-skills and Strength would have to be "as good as it gets" for Landry.

Forgot about that level. You're absolutely right.

Speed: Division I Player
Size: Division I Player
Strength: As good as it gets
Agility: Blue Chip
Ball Skills: As good as it gets

Do I give a shite? Is kenny hilliard, dalton hilliard?

I was just throwing a # out there. Go watch his film for yourself before you start picking apart my evaluation of him. The kid is slow in those clips is all I was saying.

Landry's stats confirm what i kind of thought. he yards per catch is not that high for a 5 star caliber player.
great analysis

Landry - 58 receptions for 1,069 yards and 13 touchdowns - 18.4

Randle - 55 catches for 1,058 yards and 11 TDs - 19.2 ypc

Kyle Prater - 60 catches for 948 and 9 TDs - 15.8 ypc

Robert Woods - 81 catches for 1,378 19 TDs - 17 ypc

for one thing, i think some of yall are forgetting that those films on kenny are from his freshman and sophmore years. he will gradually get faster. not too many 220lb backs run sub 4.6 40s.

also commenting on landrys height is rediculous. look how big steve smith is (5-10) and think about what he has done

Landry is obviously a very, very good player. the question is will he be "RATED" A 5 star (rivals). I think there is a big question as to whether his measurables and speed will negatively impact him being "RATED" 5 star.

in addition, Louisiana has 5 top 50 caliber players for 2011. thus, there are other LA. options to pick from as a 5 star player and that could come into play as well.

Emmitt Smiths 40 time at the college combin was 4.8 FYI.

When Blue Gay and Norman LeJeune played at Brusly they were the second and third fastest players on the team. Anyone want to guess who the fastest kid was, he ran a 4.4 legit 40.

Jerry Rice was a 4.71 in the combine.

Former undrafted LSU player Ryan Clark played 8 years in the NFL. He was known for low 40 times.

Wendell Davis was another slow player. Not many could cover him.
