playing time is great, but an unproven offense and an unproven coach seems like a recipe for a "rebuilding year"

precisely, all of this 'interest' will fade once the season starts.

I read somewhere that Seastrunk's pastor in Texas is pushing him to Auburn becuase the pastor's son is a coach with the War Chickens.

why would a kid commit to a school simply bc his pastors son is a low level coach there? that is retarted

When Auburn actually out recruits LSU, then I will start paying attention to them, but until then, they are just another 2nd. tier SEC program.

Only if you think LSU is a 1st tier since LSU is about the same as AU in wins and losses in the SEC and about even in the overall series. Not to mention AU has been better than LSU in two of the last three decades.

Is that all you have? Cmon, come up with something besides that same old tired, unoriginal crap.

And the obvious retort is how many times you go undefeated and not get your arse kicked in the last 30-40 years? Never? AU has twice in the last 15. AU has three seasons in the past 25 years when they could have been named NC. 1983, 1993, 2004. That is more than LSU.

Fact is LSU is historically similiar to AU in wins and head to head.

How many of those wins were as a clean program? SLIM TO NONE!

AU one of top 10 all-time dirtiest program.

#8 Dirtiest in this list

#2 Dirtiest in this list

#2 Dirtiest in this List

Your second tier in your own state in everything you do. Second tier on the field, and second tier in cheating to Alabama.

History shows it's only a matter of time before AU & Alabama get caught again.

You mean discussing the only thing that matters? yeah, let's not bring that into the discussion

Go ahead and post the all time wins and SEC wins which is what I referred to. Can you read? If so, why quote and "attempt" to refute something I said with something I did not say? Are you a retard?

As we are one of the top fifteen winningest teams in the country, I think this argument is not only stupid, but nothing short of your own discontent with Auburn coming full circle in this ridiculous question.

But I'll answer your question: Yes, I deny that Auburn is a second-tier SEC program.

I'm of the opinion that every school cheats, some get caught and some manage not to.

I'm assuming you are of the opinion that LSU is a first-tier SEC program and that Auburn is a second-tier SEC program.

LSU All Time Football Record: 701-383-47 (.641)
Auburn All Time Football Record: 688-395-47 (.630)

Yeah, quite a difference there.

By the way since LSU is so supperior, lets break down the last 3 decades (almost 30 years).

1980's

AU: 4 SEC championships, 10th best program in the country. NC in 1983 (Yep I will claim it and stand by it. Probably would have had another NC in 1988 if not for the last second earthquake game)
LSU: 2 SEC championships, 18th nationally.

1990's

AU: 1 SEC West 28th nationally
LSU: Nothing. 42nd nationally (by the way you have to go back to the 1940's to find a time AU was this bad. Saban really saved yall's arse)

2000's
AU: 1 SEC, 13th nationally.
LSU: 3 SEC, 1 West, 3rd nationally (LSU has kicked arse this decade).

In summary, national rankings and SEC championships last 3 decades:

AU: #10, #28, #13 (average - #17) 5 SEC championships.
LSU: #18, #42, #3. (average - #21) 5 SEC championships.

The NC's are VERY subjective and involve a lot of luck and chance.

LSU got to play in 2 of them because of a whole shitload of things lining up against all probability. LSU has had 2 teams in 30+ years that could claim the best team in the country title. AU has had more in less time including two undefeated teams. Bottom line, NCs are subjective and involve a lot of luck.

Bottom line #2, if AU is a 2nd tier SEC team, SO is LSU.

Why go back just 30 years? Why not just use this decade? GT has won one less SECC's than Auburn

Right now, barn is a second tier program, and everyone in the SEC knows it
