Take it for what it is worth, but I spoke to his uncle this week here in Thibodaux. He said that he is all Auburn. He loved Oregon but it may be too far away (but has not ruled it out). His uncle echoed what others have been saying about him feeling like he would be able to play at Auburn earlier (I am not saying that is the case but that is how he feels). From what he says TR has nothing against LSU, it's just about early playing time. From what I hear TR is a good/solid kid. Let's hope his uncle is wrong and you all can make me eat crow me for this post!

Unless something crazy happens he will commit to auburn. However, there is a long time until NSD and you better believe LSU will not give up, it will become much harder to leave home as the reality of doing so gets nearer

If a kid is that good and he has confidence... he shouldnt worry about a depth chart. If he thinks our WR core next year is that intimidating, I dont want him. Good luck on the plains and I hope you plan on a career in Alabama.

If he leaves the state and goes to AU for playing time I say good luck to him and hope he does well. I do, however, hope he gets that playing time next year and Peterson lights his scrawny arse up and says "You should've thought more about it son."

MSG I would compare reed to chris tolliver but not quite as fast but with better hands. LSU generally hasn't done well with a true slot guy. Bigger receivers seem to thrive in our offense far more than smaller receivers

To be honest.... Im not going to lose a wink of sleep if he leaves the state. Personally... I like Wright. I do think we need a TRUE slot guy, but Id rather try Tolliver next year and then pull Landry and Sylve in 11.

I hope we can land them all... the future is very reassuring though.

We will, the only in state product I'm loosely worried about next year is freak johnson and I still think he is LSU in the end

Rasco scares me also. If we have some breakout RB performances from someone next year like Ford or Ware, I could get concerned about Hilliard.

Does anyone know if UT is in the mix for this Reed kid? I hadn't heard that much about us recruiting him, but all of the sudden his Rivals page has us listed as one of his four finalists.

Understood, but I'd rather have the breakout performances for LSU than worry about what a junior HS kid thinks about the depth chart.

Rasco does concern me a bit but Evangel will never be a stronghold for Louisiana like a WMHS or a Leesville. LSU is working very hard on him but he does like Texas. I'm not concerned about Hilliard in the least, refers to LSU as "we" already and is a legacy, a powerful one at the same posistion.

One kid to watch next year is a home schooled QB named Stevie Douglas, has all the tools but just a little awkward mechanically and maybe hasn't quite grown into his body.

FWIW Doucet fit the mold of a slot receiver and was pretty good at LSU. Skyler green as well.
