Actually he is, because he will be selected in the 1st round. He tore up the combine after a good junior season. Every mock draft has him as a 1st round talent. Pro scouts have him as a 1st round talent. Your opinion doesn't really matter.

Thanks. That needed to be said.

I don't speak in absolute truths like some claim on this board. It's just a guess and an observation. I'd be absolutely shocked if we landed Smith, Mullen, and Fulton at CB after the 2015 DB class we just pulled. Impossible? No. Corey Raymond has been amazing as a DB coach/recruiter and deserves a damn raise. Is it logical to have my opinion? I believe so. Again, not saying it can't happen but it will be a fight to get and keep all those guys. Long time to go no matter what anyone is saying at this time.

well, as long as mullen goes to fsu then it significantly increases the chance we keep smith since they already have taylor. good that it is happening now so we can focus on Williams, clay, Broussard etc. as the third cb if we need to take 3 guys.

I prefer smith to mullen because he is a better, potential free safety.

As to the ongoing discussion above about whether Collins might go in the 1st round, two points to consider:

1) I agree he did not perform like a normal 1st round talent last season. However, the improvement he showed in 2014 over the way he looked in the 2013 season was near meteoric. Perhaps NFL scouts are taking that into account (his better than normal improvement over the last 18 months)

2) Many NFL scouts are much more interested in measurables than actual productivity. A good example was a couple of years ago where that freakish DT from Memphis went early in the 1st round - despite showing little productivity on the actual playing field (against mediocre competition). Many NFL teams take the approach that they can develop a kid - they just want talent to work with. And Collins clearly has top-notch physical skills.

I'm not saying I think he goes 1st round - I don't have a clue. But just food for thought.

That's cool. I have no qualms with that. It's just some idiots on here have no clue how to answer one(it is td.com). To keep it civil! I gave my opinion about the kid after having watched him his entire LSU career. If he is being taken that seriously than I'm very happy for him.
