From NYT/The Athletic:
"All four programs in this year’s CFP semifinals used starting quarterbacks from the transfer portal."

IIRC, 7 of the last 9 Heisman winners were also transfers.
This and CFP starting QBs being transfers are gonna probably be the norm from now on, and not the exception.

It makes a lot of sense. Get lots of snaps at smaller schools and then transfer to a contender your junior year

With our talent, and Lane plus Weiss' mind, there is genuinely zeroooo reason whoever we get at QB shouldn't be at the very least contending, but then winning as the system becomes concrete.

Next year will break trend. Arch will win the Heisman.

Nahhhhhh
I think Arch will have a darn good year and will make it to New York, but don't see him winning it. Definitely will be close though.
I say that, but until the rosters are set it's just a real shite guesstimation

Arch was the favorite preseason last year. Rinse, repeat, and don’t live up to the hype

He'd be the first Manning to win it. No way he's any better than Peyton or Eli, and they didn't win it. Would have to be a weak year and Texas would need to break their streak of folding like origami in the big games.

2 of the 4 came from other P4 schools, one from a perennial playoff team. The one from a smaller school got his shot to play because of an injury to the starter.
Mendoza from Cal to Indiana
Moore from UCLA to Oregon
Beck from Georgia to Miami

From everything I know, which is very little, isn’t this post a year old?

Thanks for spoiling everything with facts.

Both of our heisman winners were, but Burrow never got a NIL deal, he got the old fashioned way he earn…..
He got his under the crawfish table!

Well yeah but Oregon is an upgrade from UCLA and Indiana is an upgrade from Cal. The only anomaly is Carson Beck. But even then, those 2 semifinalists were starters for a school that would never compete for a championship, and obviously chambliss was d2. That's what I meant by "smaller school"

If I were building the team, I’d use the portal for damn near the whole team except the positions of RB, WR, CB, Safety.
