Also, when did he start playing football?

For a lot of big kids, they’ve never even put on pads until high school.

Wiltfong write up on a national 7-on-7 event.

quote:

While top-ranked 2020 quarterback DJ Uiagalelei flashed his fantastic upside and rocket arm for the ProWay team at this tournament, the top 2020 performer at the signal-caller position was Ponchatoula (La.) High’s TJ Finley who guided the EPS Blaze team on a deep run in the tournament. The 6-foot-6, 225-pound Finley is a good decision maker, strong-armed passer that needs to work on consistency with his feet, but has as high a ceiling as any quarterback recruit I’ve seen thus far in his class. Finley is confident, was in command for his team, saw the field well and had several wow downfield throws. Offers for Finley include LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Louisville, Mississippi State and Ole Miss.

This kid can make all the throws. Decent numbers considering the team he is on. He really impressed n the recent camp and every program that’s visited and watched him throw has offered. Smart kid with all the tools needed to be a D1 qb. He will have his 4th Star soon. I believe he ends up a top 5 pro style QB.

He did a couple of interviews yesterday, one on AFR and another on a local news affiliate. He came off as a smart, mature kid in both.
