Completely agree. They’ve gone so far to the left with the rules mimicking pro ball, why the hell not do something to protect the kids who not benefit from the “free market” that has become college athletics??? At least this way we have a group of players who can maximize their college experience and as fans se maintain some flavor of what college football used to be in the sense that we would have some continuity related to our own team but also the enemy

Um, you’re supposed to be able to earn 120 credits within 4 years. I realize it’s seemingly a farce these days because of NIL/portal issues, but these are still actual college students and so eligibility should be tied to how long it typically takes a student to graduate. I realize a lot of students take victory lap 5th years, and voila, there is a redshirt year that affords that.
The NCAA should change nothing about eligibility timing.
