Same shite was said about Terrance broadway this time last year and he's at Houston.

And ppl this time last year were saying that Broadwat wouldn't be a QB if he went to LSU. Oliver is a good QB, has good arm strength, and studies the game religously per some friends of his family. I think he is a legit QB prospect. It's just a matter of if LSU can get someone better. That would mean LSU signing one of the elite QBs in the country.

I really want Sylve. Hes the speed we're lacking at WR right now. A true deep threat.

Slyve may well be the fastest guy in the country next year.

That guy could probably go 4.3 in high tops, in the sand.

Larry Porter told someone I know last Fall that if LSU signs the Top 11 players in the state in 2011, we will win another national championship. That got me fired up.

wow you dont waste anytime. Lets used the 24 hour rule and enjoy the 2010 class

Naw, let's not waste anytime.

The two biggest in-state recruits on the board right now for us are OL Greg Robinson and DE Jermauria Rasco. We need to relentlessly stay on top of these guys until they commit to us, and, from what I'm hearing, each could wait awhile before doing so (scary).

LSU already looks to have three 5-star recruits as early commitments for our 2011 class, so we should look very good to the rest of the prospects that we'll be pursuing. Yesterday's results should also help us with our 2011 class, as big-time prospects will realize that they should not wait until signing day to commit to play for LSU (see Trovon Reed).

While yesterday's results could hurt our chances with Rasco, I can't see any better place for Robinson to commit right now. We need both of these guys, though, and we shouldn't waste ANY time trying to get their verbals.

We have pretty damn good odds to win another one or two National Championships within the next 3-5 years without landing all those prospects, but, of course, it would be nice to have the added depth and additional options.

We must not forget how much talent is currently on the team right now, though, and we must assume that another title can be attained with our current roster.

No more than Jeffcoat and Wilson hurt UT.

Not sure what you mean here.

You make a good point, but this isn't Texas and Shreveport is not the bayou. I think acquiring Brandon Jackson would've at least improved our chances, but that didn't happen. I'd say that positive results on the field come next fall will strengthen LSU's case with Rasco the most. I say this, because the Longhorns are most likely going to be winning a lot of games.

I'm one of those people that truly believes that Trovon was struggling with his decision all day yesterday and that he elected to stick to his lame Auburn commit due to the in-pouring on WRs to LSU's 2010 class. I think if guys like Fobbs and Williams hadn't already been on board or rumored to be on board at the start of NSD, Trovon would've been a real Tiger (not a preppy one that rides around in limo talking about how amazing their new locker room is).

unfortunately that is not very likely.

Brown, he's referencing the believe that Reed would have switched had we had fewer commits from Wrs. Perhaps if Williams had not committed we could have swayed Reed is the belief. True or not, who knows.

Why? So he can go compete with this years Texas recruits? Jeffcoat, Daniels and Wilson at DE.

That's a good point, too. So, unless LSU and Texas are to be beaten by another school for his services, he's going to be up against pretty stout competition for early playing time at DE.

With all this being said, LSU should have the edge - I just hope our team looks marketable mid-way through the fall and down the stretch in comparison to the Longhorns.

One thing we can all tell by Rasco's early comments is that he wants to play for a football powerhouse that's close to home. This kid's been a high-profile prospect for over a year now, so hopefully his intentions are true and will remain consistent throughout his recruitment process.

This will be a down year for the horns fyi.

New QB, relatively new WRs, and more plays for an inxperience RB.

The problem is that basically everyone in the Big 12 south is breaking in new QB's and WR's. Besides Oklahoma, what tough game does Texas play. The North stinks and Okie St doesn't have the talent level to come close to competing. That is a 2 dog race every year. No other Big 12 team even sniffed the top 10 in the last 4 years. A/M's average is around 20th. Texas has also out recruited Oklahoma pretty drastically 3 of the last 4 years.

Texas also has the true sophomore Okafor who is looking big time at DE.They are loaded at the position.Has to help us.I think we will give him all the attention he wants and the other top guys in the state will be the closing factor in getting him to LSU.The LA guys are going to band together to put together a special bring LSU back to the top class.Just my opinion

A down year record-wise? Who's going to beat them again? Maybe Oklahoma and one other team? Even if they aren't as good, they're still going to win the vast majority of their games.

Garrett Gilbert is quote possible the best young, first year quarterback in the country right now, and the Longhorns are loaded with support for him (and they will be for a long time to come).
