You must have not gotten the memo. 2018 was the worst class in LSU history

Hell, maybe, but definitely the worst in a long time. There are very few guys that will truly contribute outside of the guys everybody knew would be great. That year also put us behind on DL recruiting and a shite ton of players were gone after only one year. Joseph (S), Cotton (DT), Livingston (DT), Scott (OLB), Smith (C) Provens (RB), Sheffer (TE) and Jones (WR) were already gone at the start of the season. Rosenthal and Hines both moved to OL from DL, which meant that after one year there was only one DL player from that whole class.

So of the 22 recruits, 8 were gone in a year, leaving you with 14.

Obviously Chase and Marshall were supposed to contribute early and many expected Curry to step in and get time as a freshman 3rd stringer. A lot of recruitniks expected Rosenthal and Hines to contribute on OL. So of that 14, 5 were expected to contribute early (year one of two). Lewis has been one of the best on the OL, Traore was horrible last year but wasn't bad as a backup this year.

Realistically, we may have 7 or 8 true contributors from that class.

It was easy to see LSU was just trying to get bodies that year because none of the big dogs wanted in after the few talents from Louisiana. Thank God O has turned that situation around.

I wonder what Desmond Little is capable of.

It would be nice if he gets the three deep next year.
