Well of course. It's the nature of being a fan. They aren't going to come out and say they will lose, especially since most of them predict Auburn to have somewhere around a 6-6 record.

They don't have the entire team back. But you're right, they have a lot of the offense back that put up 3 points against MSU and 0 against Alabama and struggled the entire season. They don't have much young talent on that side of the ball that you'd expect to blossom though into a halfway decent unit. And defensively, they lose many of their most talented players like Marks, Powers, and Blackmon.

More importantly, their recruiting has been shite the last two years. They've recruited no quality offensive linemen in those classes, while LSU has loaded up. They have a worse QB situation, WR, TE, DT, etc etc. What happened over the last five years with Auburn is meaningless, going forward is what counts.

Both those years were top 20 classes.

Last year was a top 15 class.

While not dominant, it isn't a "shite class". Most of the meltdown over those classes had to do with Alabama getting a top 2 class each of those years.

Ross, you know that Tubbs always had some nonqualifiers as well, so those numbers get inflated.

Still, even best case, that's behind Alabama, LSU, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. And probably right at the same level as South Carolina, Ole Miss, and Arkansas.

Meh, when you get that high into the rankings, there really isn't that much of a difference between the #11 ranked team and the #15 ranked team. So really, the only SEC recruiting classes that were obviously head and shoulders better than Auburn's were LSU, Alabama, and Georgia.

LSU recruiting rankings have been spanking Auburn the last 4 or 5 years, but it hasnt translated to dominance on the field.

LSU fans have been saying this for the last 5 years. But when the two teams meet on the field, if LSU wins, they have to fight and claw their way to a victory. That includes last year when Auburn had a horrible season. Auburn virtually have their entire team back from last year and they'll be better on offense

But of course, I'm sure all LSU fans think they're going to truck Auburn this year

How many SEC Championships has Auburn won lately? So yes, it has shown up on the field. But again, Auburn's recruiting has dropped off the last two or three years, so what they did on the field 3 or 4 years ago is of no relevance here. That's why they had a crappy year last year, and are projected to do so into the future by most observers.

But to Ross, you don't think there is a big difference with how Auburn has recruited the last two years versus LSU/Florida/Alabama/Georgia? For example, look at your offensive line classes compared to those schools. Look at what you have at QB. etc. Just being honest here.

LSU/Alabama/Georgia definitely had better classes than Auburn last year. Florida did not. I think Scout had them outside the Top 20 for last year.

lol, Florida most certainly did. They simply didn't sign nearly as many players. But the guys they signed were a bunch of studs like Andre Debose, Jelani Jenkins, Xavier Nixon, Gary Brown, etc. There is a difference btw quantity and quality. I don't know that there were more than one or two players in Auburn's class that Florida even offered.

Les Miles 3-1 against Auburn? Likely 4-1 after this year. Seems to be showing up on the field to me.

KODI BURNS GONNA BE BRINGIN THE PAIN

This next season is going to suck balls

ETA: Probably end up with Caudle as our starting quarterback, who has a decent arm, but nothing special.

True, i said dominance. Those 3 victories has a average margin of victory of 4 pts. and one victory was the result of a last second desperation TD pass

Who gives a ....? A win is a win. You act like I'm the only one who thinks this way about Auburn, when in reality, many Auburn fans and most SEC fans see the same issues that I see in regards to their team. You can spin it all you want, but they don't have all of the parts that LSU has right now.

Kodi Burns can't hit the broadside of a barn

I saw a video of him at spring practice before the A-Day game. He was unspeakably horrible. He has been improving steadily throughout spring practices, but he still is extremely inconsistent as a passer. If Burns gets the starting job and manages to keep it, and you take into account our offensive line woes, we would be looking at another 5-7 season.
