Believe me, recruits are allowed to say whatever they want to. They say a lot of stupid shite. I don't doubt you, but what the recruit said doesn't mean anything.

Whatever, I have been watching John Chavis defenses since 1994. If we had ANYBODY but him Manning would have had a national championship and Nick Saban LOVES to abuse Chavis and so does Meyer..drove 99 yards on "THE CHIEF" in 2007. And that's the year UT went to SECCG.. He will never blitz a db..He has ONE STYLE and will not adjust. Hide and watch

That is some of the dumbest shite I've ever seen. You won a National Championship bc of Chavis' defense you idiot! Your offense had freakin' 82 yards against Florida the year you won the MNC with Martin at QB. Your offense did nothing against most of the good teams you faced that year.

And you didn't win a NC with Manning bc your offensive line was pathetic, not bc of the defense.

It's really sad when I know more about Tennessee football than you do. Now please, never show up again now that I've put you in your place.

BTW, Tennessee talent in '07:
2008 NFL Rookie of the Year LB Jerod Mayo, 2009 NFL 1st Round Pick Robert Ayres, a S named Eric Berry.

And when was the last time LSU's defensive unit had 13 future NFL players as Tenn's 2001 defense?

Your whole secondary was true freshman and Jucos. He would never have that situation if he were coaching at a top tier program.

It's really pathetic that I know more about Tennessee's team than your fans do.

Yeah Chavis was the best, you're right. He's very good at adapting to the spread. He's only allowed 89 points to UF the last 2 years. He's also very good at making in game adjustments. See the SECCG in 2001 if you don't believe me. But, his best traits are stopping 3rd and Longs and putting the nail in the coffin of teams late in the game. A top tier program, why don't you list all time wins, SEC wins, and whatever other stats you want of "top tier programs" and then those lower tier programs like Tennessee.

Last 5 years?? Tennessee hasn't been a top tier program in that time span and it isn't his fault. Fat Fulmer ran your arse in the ground and that's the way it is....get over yourself.

U couldn't even get a 1st down on offense against UF the last two years. And you're complaining about the defense!?! Chavis did better against Florida this year than LSU did either of the last two years. Chavis shutdown the Wildhog two years ago, while LSU hasn't been able to stop it. So stop with that weak shite here!

The point is that you haven't been a top tier program for the last 5 years or so. Your offense has been awful in many of those years, and your talent overall has dropped off. For awhile, you had awesome talent due to all of the national exposure that Peyton brought your program. Once the Peyton-buzz dropped off, your talent fell off the last few years.

Why would I complain about our offense, this is about Chavis. Clawson is possibly the worst OC in the history of football. Whatever, hope you're happy with Chavis, he's a great one, especially in the areas mentioned in my previous post.

WTF is that supposed to mean? This has to do with Chavis and what an incredibly inconsistent DC he's been in the only period that matters, the last 5 years.

We had 13 future NFL players including Henderson and Haynesworth at DT and we let freakin Matt Mauck run QB draws against us. He did not adjust, the defense played the Rohan Davey gameplan the whole game.

Chavis is an all-right coach, but he REFUSES to adjust or change anything. That is just a fact.

Chavis is an upgrade from the co-coordinator failure of last season and anyone who disagrees with that doesn't know jack about football. If Chavis doesn't get it done LSU will find someone who will.

BC maybe Chavis' numbers would be better if your offense could actually get a 1st down against a Florida or Alabama. The more your defense is on the field, of course they will get exposed.

Noone is saying Chavis is the gr8est. We just know that he isn't horrible, and he's a heck of a lot better than what we had last year.

OK, I agree that Chavis is a decent coach. He seems like a good man, he just frustrated the heck out of us as fans the last few years. I agree that LSU's talent should help him. I think he and Monte are two of the better DCs in the league.

You didn't win because of your offense line..

1994 Offensive line included Jason Layman, Bubba Miller, Jeff Smith and Leslie Ratliffe all played in the NFL
1995- Same line but add Robert Poole
1996-Trey Teague-NFL- Spencer Riley, Robert Poole , Chad Clifton-NFL
1997-Chad Clifton- NFL, Cosey Coleman-- NFL, Trey Teague- NFL,

Don't give me any shite about not having an offensive line plus, Marcus Nash, Peerless Price, Joey Kent, backs like Jay Graham, Shawn Bryson and Jamal Lewis...

Save that NO OFFENSE bullshite for somebody else..

We won the National title just like other teams win the national title LUCK..Florida doesn't fumble on the one..Game over. Clint Storner's miracle fumble..FG at the buzzer to beat Syracuse after Donavan McNabb made the Chief look stupid..

Don't give me any crap about how we won BECAUSE OF THE DEFENSE"...Can you say Matt Mauck and the quarterback draw?..

You had a great line Peyton's Sophomore year, then crap the next year after all of those guys graduated. You'd have to be an idiot not to remember that. Manning basically got killed every time he dropped back against Florida the next two years. So no, defense had nothing to do with you not winning an NC with Manning. That was an idiotic statement on your part.

Yes, your offense was pathetic when you beat Florida. It bumbled around in the MNC game against FSU. I don't care what it did against some crap SCar team.

And Florida RAN UP AND DOWN THE FIELD against Chavis and shot it self in the foot...Nothing Chavis did won that game..Put that one on AL WILSON causing 3 fumbles and Florida missing a gimme FG..

Bacisally an idiot to know Manniing didn't have an offensive line his junior year..

Again..LT- Trey Teague- NFL
LG-Spencer Riley-
C- Brent Gibson
RG- Robert Poole
RT- Chad Clifton- NFL

Senior year

LT-Chad Clifton NFL
LG-Spencer Riley
C-Trey Teague- NFL
RG-Mercedes Hamilton
RT-Cosey Coleman -NFL

Plus in 96 we had a 1,000 yd rusher in Jay Graham, and a 1,000 yd rusher in Jamal Lewis.. in 1997 Fulmer REFUSES to start Jamal Lewis against Florida because "he doesn't know the blocking schemes"..Manning has no running threat until it is too late...Tell it to somebody else...Spurrier would go for it on 4th and long and not only get a first down but would score..you could see Chavis get the 'deer in the headlight look" every time they played Florida..

UT lost won 21 games and lost 4 in Mannings Junior and Senior year..Plus won the SEC Championship his senior year... The 96 Florida game was 35-0 at halftime...

2 were to Florida..1 was to Memphis and the other was to Nebraska..another TEAM that steam rolled a team full of future all pros on Defense..Tell it to somebody else.

It's amazing how LSU fans only see things through purple and yellow glasses sometimes.

No offense??? Yea right. We would have had a dynasty in the Manning/Martin era if our defense would'nt have played sub-par against the likes of Florida and Nebraska.
