I didn't realize that 2003 #1 class had that many guys that didn't pan out. Lots of guys never panned out on the field, lots of guys transferred.

why do people look at recruiting rankings to determine what the talent is on a team? it's not uncommon for a good coach to arrive at a school and have a highly ranked class because of the novelty, the promises of p.t. and because there are more needs on the team. the teams in the upper echelon don't recruit to "win" the recruiting rankings. they recruit for need. that doesn't always translate into the highest ranked class.

star rankings are based on how the players performed in h.s. they are not an indication of how they will perform in college.

The players are very talented but they aren't being coached correctly.

I put it on coaching for not playing the more talented players and not having them in the correct spots
who is "more talented" who isn't playing and how would you know? also, the players are every bit as much at fault as the coaches for not being in the correct spots. it's a TEAM game meaning coaches and players have to work together.

im never going by the star system on rivals and on scout. after they had jacob hester as a 2 star. really its about how much the guy works out and learns. look at N.D they have a good class the past 3 years. and look at them now. go look at TCU average stars and look at how high their d is ranked. ITS BOUT COACHING UP THE GUYS

and after that, look at the level of competition TCU plays, note also how many points OU scored on them.

The 2003 class was good at the skill positions & a couple DBs. But I think even you can see there was very little "Beef" in this class on DL or OL that stuck around or had the skills to play.

A lot of attrition in that class! Many never contributed.
