He was interested in us, this summer he said Florida and au were tied and he would like to to lsu get more involved. Apparently we weren't recruiting him hard enough

This is how I know your friend really doesnt follow recruiting...
Average class rating under Les Miles in random order: .9024, .8817, .8964, .9004, .9133, .8904, .9000, .8627, .9103, .8889, .9037.
Can you tell the difference between this years class and the others under Miles? No you cant.
And lets take a look at the class breakdown. We have 15 confirmed commits right now, 3 are 5* (20% of class), 6 are 4*(40% of class), 4 are 3* (27% of class), and 2 are 2*(13% of class). If you go through the rest of the classes we have had under Miles you will find very similar breakdowns.
And, we should also note that we do have two 2* players committed, which is either the most or tied for the most we have had in 1 class under Miles. BUT, 1 of them is arguably the best deep snapper in the nation and the other 1 is a QB that just happens to be teammates and very close friends with 1 of the best WRs in the nation and a top 50 player overall in DaMarkus Lodge. And its no secret he wants Lodge with him at LSU and he is very interested in us. And some sites have McMillan as a 3* player as well.
The thing with this class is that we only have 15 commits right now, which hurts our point total compared to other schools. Out of the schools ranked in the top 20 in recruiting this year, we have the least amount of commits. Ole Miss has 16 commits, and a few schools have 17. Thats why we arent ranked that high overall right now... its because the other schools have more commits than we do right now. If you go by average player rating, we would be 10th in the nation. Ohio St, Tennessee, and Clemson are 4,5,and6 in the nation right now in recruiting... But i would rather have the 15 committed to us than their classes. Our average player rating is just as good / better than theirs. The difference is that they have 24,25,and 22 commits, so they have more points than we do.
And we have a lot of big time recruits still on the board that have a lot of interest is us and we have a solid chance of landing a handful of them. And a few of them are in-state guys as well. Those schools ranked ahead of us with 20+commits already dont have but a few spots left, if any, for their class. We have much more spots available than they do, and a lot of high profiled recruits with a lot of interest in LSU still on our board. We will land at least 5 more commits. We are gonna do what we do during this time of the year and finish like we always do... top 10 in the nation and top 3 in the SEC.
This is a damn strong class, headlined by some MAJOR players, and will get even better when we land a few more commits from now til NSD. Your friend is a dumbass.

We are probably his 3rd or 4th ATM. Nobody is beat UF/Auburn though.

That is because some people don't have a high football accumen. We will end up with arguably the top ranked recruits at their respective positions in about 3 or 4 categories. To me, that is a strong class. Also with good recruits providing depth that will put LSU in an even better position for years to come.
Personally this class stacks up as a very good class in my opinion, and if we can land some recruits late ( Mack, K.Phillips, to name a few), this could be one of the best classes

I think the class as of now is good but has huge holes. At the end it should be more complete and what we are used to.
QB-disaster IMO. Not to say McMillan will be horrible but we are a top 10 program and a 2* with no major offers is what we resort to at QB? Ridiculous. We should be able to throw shite at the wall and do better. Don't get it at all
RB-not a better group in the country and IMO the best single back nationally in Guice. We are ridiculously loaded at RB. Its almost unfair.
FB-if we actually use Mouton as we told him in recruiting then he's perfect. I have my doubts about that happening though
WR-incomplete as if now. Ferguson is a solid kid but I do think he's gonna have a hard time seeing the field. Not because of his lack of talent but because of the wealth if talent we have and will get. Add Tyron and I'm happy. Add another 1-2 with Tyron and we are good.
TE-i like the Jesuit kid but does TE really matter? We don't use the ones we have other than blocking. I appreciate the job they do blocking but we could get walkons and develop them to block
OL-im actually disappointed in our group right now. Its a solid group but its lacking that stud we need. To me Magee is the only one close to a sure, solid OL. Teuhuma is immensely talented but something seems off with him IMO. He could be a major bust or an All american. Brown and Shipley are both projects with high upside. Every school takes kids like them and you have to but the boom/bust ratio is high. If we get one of them to boom then we are fine. Brown is very similar to Hawkins IMO. Huge 1st round potential but he has to develop. Need to land 1-2 more to put the odds more in our favor
DL-as of now, a disaster. I do think it will be impressive at the end but it could go really bad if we miss on a couple. I honestly don't get why with our pedigree especially at DE. We are loaded with bodies at DT so I understand that a little but not DE. I like Washington but I just don't see him being a major guy for us
LB-anyone that knows our strategy here can feel free to clue me in. We are gonna have to bring 4-5 in next class. I don't like that many in a single class. We should've taken 2 this year and 3 next to stagger things a bit. Land Lewis and I'll erase all my doubts. He's a stud
DB- have to combine them because we recruit hybrids now. Tolliver is the only pure CB so far. Hes a great one though. Lewis and Cutter are S that can cover and that's what we want. Lewis is very Mills like. Cutter is a favorite of mine but I have no clue if he's gonna be a major player or not. Land 3 of the kids left in the board and its a boom class.

Miles and staff were exceptional at closing out top talent in 2014. I expect the same this year. LSU is in great position (once again) to compete for league and national honors in 2015! That's incentive enough. Geaux Tigers!

Bump...
With just 1 committment at the All American games, we jump up to #10 in the country according to 247sports, and our average rating is .9000 now. Also have 3players that are 5* committed to us right now, which is the 3rd most in the country.
And still just have 16 commits right now, which is the least out of all teams in the top 15 in the country. Meaning we have the room to take 5+ players. Other teams dont. And we have a great chance of making a big leap because of that.
So no, your friend does not follow recruiting.
