I could be completely off base on this. Storm Johnson could be no factor at Miami, and Spencer Ware could be our next Heisman winner for all I know. I just really liked Johnson's video! I hope they both do well at the next level, and please don't take this as I don't like Ware. Ware is a Tiger, so he's my man now.

IMO, Storm was the 4th best RB in the 2010 class behind Dyer, Lattimore and Seastrunk. Dude is really athletic. Miami will be one of the most talented teams in 2010. Very scary team.

So...how much actual game film have you seen to actually give a fair evaluation to every other high school RB in the 2010 class? Or are you just saying this b/c everyone else told you to think Dyer, Lattimore, and Seastrunk were the best and you jumped on the Storm bandwagon to have a reason to post in this thread?

Exactly... Ware did what many high school teams need by playing QB and giving them there best chance for success over a long period of time. There are many instances where you can find very successful RBs that were their high school teams QB, because they have high football IQs and are their teams best athlete. These same players have also translated as great FS in their futures as well which is the teams defensive QB. If we go on video and hype one runs the risk of looking silly, as there are many guys that are busts throughout the years that looked great on vidoe or by measureables. On field continued success and leadership is a better indicator of future success

Ware also plays in Ohio in one of their largest districts, he is a multi sport athlete.

Gore top player in Miami this year.

so, how many years in high school was Storm a premier back on his own teams?

One, after he transferred out of his 2A school because he wasn't going to be.

I'm not sure exactly what bearing this has on anything. Even if he only had one season, that is at least 10 more than Ware has at RB.

Actually, it would be one more, but who's counting?

In all fairness, Miami passed on Gore.

Not that I think Miles is an elite coach, but he anal-raped Miami out of their last coach, FWIW.

OK i know someone who saw Blue play in person and said he was a man child. fwiw.
I was also very high on Storm, his tape seems legit. I dont care if kids talk but I dont like it when the dad does more interviews than his son.
Even so , did Miami pass on Gore for Storm?

I've watched most of the vids for the top 10 RBs and top 10 Athletes in the 2010 class. I was impressed with Storm's vids(no matter who the competition was) and his combine stats. "At the Atlanta Nike Combine, he posted an electronically-timed 4.54 40-yard dash, 4.26 20-yard shuttle, 32.9-inch vertical and 102.3 SPARQ". And his max bench press is 370 lbs.

Flask, what I meant was that Johnson started at least 10 games at his new school. Ware played in one game as a true RB. That was the point I was trying to make. It really doesn't matter anyways. Like I said we have Ware, the Canes have Storm. Good luck to both young men in their college careers.

Meh.

2010 class ranked 16th.
2009 class ranked 15th.
2008 class ranked 5th.
2007 class ranked 19th.
2006 class ranked 16th.

So, they've had one great class out of 5. Mixed in with a bunch of good classes.

They won't even be the most talented team in their own conference...

I think that's a terrible comparison. Blue and Storm are nothing alike when watching their videos. And let's not forget that Storm as a junior couldn't start on his Buford team and left to play elsewhere. I like Storm and think he is a good back but these talks are so ridiculous right now. Blue is much more versatile than Storm based on what I've seen of both.

It is no different than comparing Gore to Storm and saying that Gore is better than Storm. Both are very different backs. We are not comparing apples to apples in any of these examples, the only things the players have in common are that they were either recruited or signed with both LSU and Miami.

Their 5th ranked 2008 class have been their starters from their day 1 on campus. That class has panned out better than anyone could have expected. The following classes had a few elite players in each that are also able to step in and complement their 2008 class.

For the 2010 football season, UM has as much talent as anyone....however, their future (2012 and on) should not be as talented assuming that the recent recruiting classes were ranked appropriately.

They had to due to their shitty recruiting the years prior.

And as good as that class was, it wasn't even a no. 1 or 2 class.

No chance. They don't have the talent of LSU, Florida, Bama, Texas, Ohio State, USC. Just to name a few. I'd even say that FSU, UNC in the ACC have as much, if not more, talent than them. And VTech is right in the same ball park.

2007 Class:

Major Contributors:
Graig Cooper--very good RB, but it will be interesting to see how he comes back from injury.

Slated for PT:
Damien Berry RB

Looking at their 2008 class:

Major Contributors from day 1:
Marcus Forston DT
Tommy Streeter WR
Aldarius Johnson WR
Ramon Buchanon DB
Brandon Harris DB
Travis Benjamin WR
Jacory Harris QB
Vaughn Telemaque SS
Sean Spence FS
Laron Byrd WR

These are just the names I know/remember playing from day 1 at Miami. I really don't know about their OL and who is starting there, but I would imagine at least a couple of those guys are now starters. Also, I am not sure about Marcus Robinson who was a big time LB prospect.

Arthur Brown in the one guy I look at from that class and can say "BUST." The rest of their top prospects have all panned out and will be pros.

2009 Class: They had a very small class of 19...all of which did not even enroll (Prince Kent comes to mind initially), hence a lower ranking.

Contributed Last Year:
Ray Ray Armstrong

Slated to see PT next year:
Lamar Miller

Again, I don't know enough about their depth chart to say anything else about these guys.

2010 Class:

Really too early to tell at this point. Latwan Anderson is someone to watch closely.

I think the point is at least made that the 2008 class was stocked and they now all have 2 full years of experience.

You are just looking at the ranking class from when they were in highschool. I am referring to how these guys actually panned out. the 2008 Miami class is going to send a ton of guys into the league.

Other teams may be deeper and have more talent on the roster as a whole, but the starters for UM who have a minimum of 2 years of experience are all top shelf college players.

They have one of the best WRing corps in the country, a great secondary, and have tons of potential at RB. I just don't know how they are in the trenches as I can only follow them so closely.

And I would argue that anytime your team is playing 15+ freshman and sophomores, you are at a bigtime talent loss.

Just my take.
