I can think of an impressive group of ranters that think that LSU doesn't have access to a top 5 recruiting. Some kids don't know jack.
I like your thinking here, but when the top players from Florida want to come our way, we don't hold out for a La. prospect that is still deciding between us and Bama/Miss/aTm.
That's why I don't like the whole
Comment.
If Les is going to take a spot away from a top player in Louisiana for a guy in Florida, then he should be smart enough to say good luck to players that go out of state. Remember, their coaches are watching and are here every year.

Posted by InTheDetails LSU would struggle to be a top 25 program if they signed 20 Louisiana kids every go-around. The state has a lot of talent, but it doesn't encompass all of the position groups year in and year out. They have to go out of state every year to address some of those needs. Linebacker in the 2016 class is a good example of that. Good players don't make great teams; great players do. LSU has built a national brand that allows them to go just about anywhere to steal a kid. Without Tashawn Bower, Sione Teuhema, Deondre Clark and Arden Key on the roster, they'd be in some serious trouble; each of which is from out of state. Christian Lacouture, Travonte Valentine and Maquedius Bain are from out of state and will be 3 out of the top 4 DT's in the rotation this year. LSU has to continue pushing the envelope nationally if they want to continue being a top-tier, consistent program.
Here is your answer Sir!!! But you should already know this. LSU has to go out of State every year

we sign most of the top Louisiana guys every year.
and when we don't it isn't because we weren't recruiting them.
So chill out man.

So we should not take the #1 CB and #1 Duel Threat QB in the country because they are from Florida and are taking away spots from kids here in LA. I hope you really aren't this clueless.

Put it this way, call to parents in north Louisiana, raise your kids the right way, the LSU way.

In case nobody knew, the State of Louisiana has been blessed with some astonishing talent. These kids coming out the next 2-3 recruiting classes is second to none in the country.
still have to qualify academically, pretty sure LSU knows more than we do about these kids besides their athletic gifts.

Nope.

Yes, we need a few OOS guys, but not more than 5...end of story!
You are crazy. Everyone knows Louisiana is loaded this year, but if they have an OOS player that is better than an in state guy and we have a good shot with him then offer him. We will sign more than 5 OOS guys.
I nominate this as the worst thread of the year.

YOu seem to know just about nothing about how LSU recruits.
I guess he hasn't paid attention to how we, at least under Miles, fairly carefully offer in-state guys late - so, if there is a problem, we don't have to process an in-state kid and soil the sheets with that kid's coach and family. While not always perfect, it seems to work out.
It's not like we don't know these in-state kids - our staff is watching them in middle school - this is exactly how we nabbed Mathieu - we knew him top to bottom before anyone else did.
But, to offer an in-state kid early, it has to be a Leonard Fournette, Derrius Guice or Tyron Johnson type player (to use recent examples).
