Early indications are the contract is still the best. And momma is happy so he better be too.

So explain to me why it is being suggested that there is a limited amount of NIL money available. Whether it be a collective or a group of boosters, I'd think that you can alwatys expand the group of contributors - especially to keep a kid with LA ties.

Each recruit doesn't exist in a vacuum.

Would it be extremely easy for LSU boosters to come up with a couple hundred thousand on short notice? Sure.

But in general the goal is to have the money distributed based on the value of the player.

So you can't just toss $200K to a hypothetical 11th best recruit in your class (coming in as the 7th best DB on the roster) without taking into consideration what has been arranged for those other ten recruits (and six DBs).

These decisions at first glance seem to involve one player but really involve 85.

From what I gather, Perkins took an NIL deal but it wasn't necessarily the highest bid. Mathews took a bid from Aggie that was significantly higher than LSU's offer. That's just what i've heard though.

Perkins for sure had a much higher nil offer from florida, so this all adds up.
