He does need to improve his release and his accuracy. He is a hot and cold passer right now
also on pay sites...

We may need to look at juco ranks in addition to HS recruits.

So 1 report from 16 months ago says he's "hot and cold", as a passer and needs to improve his release and accuracy = Randall "by all reports" is "extremely inaccurate" and has not improved or developed with collegiate level QB coaching (and all by Krags, none by Crowton)?

If that is the scenario you are worried about then you shouldn't be worried. If that scenario unfolds, it will have a great long-term impact on the program. The year after will probably be an 8-win season but we'll also continue to attract recruits and will be dominant again the 2nd or 3rd year after that. A more troubling development would be if the team's jet exploded killing everyone on board or some deadly epidemic infected and killed or paralyzed all of the coaches and players. These scenarios "could" happen but are also unlikely.

I'm not saying he is or he isn't. I've always felt he was a sleeper. Everyone talks about Gunner Rivers, few talk about Randall. HoustonLadyTiger was just looking for articles which referenced his inconsistencies - and as the perfect southern gentleman I accommodated!
I like the guy. I said in an earlier post that, though strictly just my feeling (and I hate relying on that) I think if Randall was perceived more highly regarded we may have had a better shot at Tracy Howard.
Good news is it appears we have significant depth in the QB slot, and if Krags can do his job it could be really, really fun! I know the "Fab 5" (I think that's what they call themselve) are excited about an air show next year - so am I.

I don't worry about anything! Was just positing a scenario which could happen. Totally agree, not likely. I do think it will be interesting to watch how Liggins develops - Miles is clearly impressed with his potential. Still don't think he will be a threat to Mett, though.

I agree. I can't wait to see how Liggins develops. He can be anything from a poor-man's Cam to the next Rickey Jean Francois. Mett will be the starter at QB for the next two years. I'm looking forward to a solid and consistent passing game again.

The real question about Randall (or any of these guys) is do they have the "chest" and the ability to lead a program!
Obviously that fellow from Indiana didn't!
Pretty clear that CLM was taken in part out of context - "chest" obviously referring to Liggins substantial girth.

Anyone know the top QBs projected to enter next years draft?

So we should all pretty much pray Mett is not 1 and done?
Also pray that Mett doesn't run the option. We have no QB in waiting, Rivers is still one year away. WE DON'T WANT GET INTO THE JJ and JL freshman problem.

How many years of eligibility does Mett have?

At first I would say, "No way a qb in the SEC could come in, never having started and SEC game and be so impressive he could go Pro the next season." But, Cam Newton did it.... To my thinking that was the exception rather than the rule... I hope Mett has a great year, but I am thinking it wont be good enough to propel him to the NFL. Even more so knowing we like to run the ball alot, and he isnt a duel threat qb.
But man.... lets at least get to the season before we start all this negative projection...
