when did this happen?

i guess it's matter of opinion and time.

however, from a pure talent stand point, boone just ran 10.8 100 mtrs, florida 100 meter champ, over 6 ft with a thick body build. kid has talent. he reminds me of dez bryant. i think he's comparable to davis, actually may be more "talented".

Williams is the high jump champ of louisiana, wright did well in the long jump as well.

with that said, i've seen wright play. I believe he has more polished wr skills than hunter. Hunter is a tall athlete with jumping ability much like williams. hunter is taller but not as thick. strength vs height, what wins out?

four years from now i may be dead wrong. then again, i may be right.

i just see hunter as a very skinny guy like toliver was. I think he will take a lot of time to fill out in order to be physically ready to be great. he appears to be more in love with track than football. the mental side of it has as much to do with it as physical.

I guess it is a matter of opinion, and I agree that Boone is very good. But don't think he's quite on Davis' level. Williams is nowhere near Hunter though. It's not just strength vs height. I agree Hunter will take some time to fill out like Toliver, but he's a much better athlete and more explosive runner than Williams. There was a reason he was the fall back plan. I haven't seen him play in person, so I may be off, but they're not close on film.

Wright is a much more polished WR than Hunter...but Hunter has more potential.

Honestly, I'm not even sure Hunter would pan out here. Considering how much he loves track, would he even stay on the LSU Football team? Would his head be all there mentally for Football since hes in track too?

Wright probably would blow the camp circuit up if he cared. I think he was incredibly underrated on recruiting sites. Far as Davis/Hunter go...I think Davis was better than any one receiver we got. Hunter was a high bust, high reward player with a huge ceiling. However, we got 3 guys. Fobbs is probably moving to CB, IMO. I've seen Williams play and I think people will be surprised at how good of a athlete he is.

My concern with Williams is he doesn't have great acceleration and he turns up the field slow with the ball in his hands. It would not surprise me if he grew into a small TE body and switched. I found that reported 4.4-4.5 time he ran shocking because he doesn't look like it. Williams is another guy with a high ceiling, IMO.

Wright seems like a solid WR, but nothing really stands out. That's jmo. Simon on the other hand I could agree is better than Hunter, but he was on board already and would be nice to have both bc his eligibility is so up in the air.

that and it'll be tough for him to maintain his track abilities and grow into what he needs to be as a SEC WR. If he gave up track, he'll still take awhile to fill out.

same here. I just am not all that high on Williams I guess is what it boils down to. Hope I am wrong.

I believe Simon is qualified now isn't he?

He and TM were guys I was really hoping would make it academically. Looks like we'll have another full class qualified(hopefully). I don't understand why Simon was so underrated on recruiting sites, he seemed more like a top 100 player on his highlight film...you could make a argument for top 50.

What didn't you like about Wright? Bama went after him pretty hard and I don't think he got much exposure from any camp circuits, thus he was underrated. If you mean he doesn't have a big ceiling, I'll agree with that. But he looks like the WR to me who will get PT this year over Boone, IMO. It will be one or the other most likely.

ok, there you go, two that are comparable. regardless, we lost them. we have some guys that may prove to be as good or better. no big deal. i think they get the job done.

p.s. if eligible, i do think simon may be the best athlete in the class. love his safety clips. reminds me of ed reed.

his score jumped up a lot and someone said it's been flagged, which was bound to happen w/ how much he went up.

agree all the way. Simon and Mathieu are must haves for this class and both were underrated. I think Simon can be all-SEC somewhere if he keeps his head on straight. He should have been a top 5 athlete last year, no doubt in my mind. Big guys that play as hard as he does and can do what he can on both sides of the ball don't come out every year.

He just doesn't have anything that stands out to me. He's not real big, not super fast, has good moves, but not great. Seems like he has really good hands and is tough, but I'm not sure a guy like that will make a big impact in the SEC. It wouldn't surprise me if he had a career similar to Chris Mitchell, but again I could be wrong. I think Boone is much better personally b/c he seems to have everything over Wright. Wish Wright had gone to camps so we could have seen more of him.

don't think this page displayed any pissing match. It's more of discussion.

no one is saying bama didn't get a good wr. they did. so be it.

there are a bunch of good wr's across the country. i expect bama to get some of them and i expect lsu to get some of them.

WTF So Saban gets one player who probably thinks he's gonna be riding the bench behind other WRs and you think Saban has taken over the state? You guys need to get off Saban's dick every now and then to look at the rest of the world. Incase you haven't noticed we have one helluva recruiting class already and it will do nothing but get better.

I wanted Sylve but he was by no means a must have have. Landry is the must have of this class!

It's just another sign. They haven't lost a regular season game in two years. They're now getting another player out of LA. So many of you koolaide homers say we need to get off Saban's dick; well yal needa pull your heads out of the sand.
