a QB coach wont fix a QB with seriously flawed mechanics in a few months.

RS is obviously very raw at QB. if he is serious about playing QB, he should redshirt. plenty of guys that were much more ready to play QB redshirted. VY, JR, Matt Ryan, Matt Leinart, JDB(Booty).

NFL caliber qb has nothing to do with college football and championships. If it did, then USC would win the BCS every year.

honestly, none of the guys you mentioned are drop back passers (except stafford).

(harrell, mccoy, bradford) play out of the shotgun and throw screens, slants, and fades - all system guys.

that skill set hasn't exactly translated to the NFL (Brees being the exception).

they are passers not runners. shep is not a passer and is a better runner than he is a passer. all i am saying is i would rather have a passer than a runner. and like tommy tubbervile said. he would be better to redshirt

so every person who isnt an LSU fan thinks he need to RS if he wants to be a productive QB and somehow they are all wrong and you are right. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Tebow was pretty rough around the edges his first year, but he was just too good to put on the bench. He was disciplined enough to improve his throwing skills in practice while he played his limited role on the field. I am not saying that RS is Tebow, but the comparison in how he can be handled by the staff is valid. If he disciplined enough to play a set package the first year while developing his QB skills for the future, then he sould be given a shot. I really like the fact that he will be at LSU for Spring practice so the staff can get a head start on him.

Do you honestly think Tubbs would say anything positive about LSU?

Shep is too good to not see the field as a freshman. JEEZ! If Shep red-shirted. Every freaking thread would be Les doesn't play underclassman.

I said that RS will have to work on his throwing motion with ball security and you guys talked so much crap to me. The announcers just stated the same.

he's got to get on the field. an athlete like that could make an impact...imo

exactly

he's not peyton manning throwing wise and he never will be...and im sure the coaches know this

but he is way too explosive to redshirt
