Texas loaded up on quality DTs this year. Should be interesting to see who emerges.

And they got 2 last year. That's why I stayed away.

Son-of-a-bitch!!! Back to the drawing board. I think this may end up being a bad pick for OIT.

I liked Russell and didn't know why he lasted so long. I think he will be a good one. Good pick.

Alright, I'm bumping 102362. It's been 3 hours, I shot him an email. It's been well established by now, if you aren't going to be around, email some picks in.

SunTiger is up.

Suntiger selects Stefan McClure CB from California. It was between McClure and Countess as I think they are the best CBs left and I don't think they will be available next round. McClure has good size and decent speed. I'm just hopong that all the defensive talent Cal brought in over the past few years starts to develop.

Good pick IMO, I think he has a good chance at becoming a safety because of his size and because I think Jenkins will be a really good CB.

I think next year, provided we sign 25 players, we add in a new rule that each team must draft 1, and only 1, LSU player.

Dang yetty. Shazier is nice. Considered him pretty seriously. I'll stick with blake countess CB Michigan. I just like him and the depth works in his favor there.

I think he was considering taking Countess before it got back to you.

Well it's a good thing I didn't have to hunt him down.

I'm taking a bit of a risk here, I feel, but I just love this guy and had to have him.

Avery Walls, S, Cal

Walls is an undersized safety prospect (built a bit more like a corner), but he plays bigger than his size. He's a tenacious, aggressive hitter that throws his body around freely, which reminds me a bit of a Bob Sanders type. Further, he's a consummate leader who constantly exceeds expectations, as well as a smart, instinctive player that could lead to him seeing the field early at Cal, at the very least on special teams. He's got a knack for stripping the ball out or knocking it free... just a ballhawking type of player. Walls will never measure out as the biggest or run the fastest 40, but he's just a football player.

If you haven't ever watched his highlights, I highly recommend:

7 rounds in, I like my team more this year than last year. Last year I had the unfortunate Shon Coleman incident (looks like he may be okay), then major issues/ongoing character battles of Markeith Ambles. Followed up by the 'where the frick did he go' Demar Dorsey in the 4th round. A good number of non-qualifiers too.

So this year, I'm angling for high character, intelligent prospects with fewer issues. Maybe they have less upside, but at least they'll actually be on the field. Drew, Barr, Walls all meet the "character" criteria, and guys like Blackmon, French and Diggs give me the unlimited upside (same with Drew, really).

My next pick was either Q. Russell, S. McClure, B. Countess or another guy who hasn't been picked yet with Russell being my favorite and McClure/Countess being tied at two. I liked both Countess and McClure and it was really a coin flip on who I was going to take. I'm just a little gun shy about Michigan's defense for the next three to four years. Although I think Countess has more potential.

I gotcha.

I actually like the Michigan situation (watch me get burned for that). I think we could see a clean slate with Countess coming in and getting looks in the next couple of seasons. Their defense was AWFUL.
