With my last pick, I will take a page out of the '78 Boston Celtics, where they selected Larry Bird, knowing that he was going back to school and owning his rights, and signing him before the '79 draft. With that in mind, I will select Avery Johnson.

All kidding aside, with my last pick, jembeurt selects...

Jake Rudock, QB Iowa

He was the QB for ST. Thomas Aquinas. Yes he has had great athletes to work with, but if you look at his film, everything he throws is HIGHLY accurate. Just about every throw is on the money with the receiver running in full stride. Add to that, he has almost the exact look of Stanzi, with only the need to gain some weight.

With Stanzi leaving, his place as the starter is only behind a junior, who has played some before, and will be the starter this year. Problem is, Coach Ferenz has already come out and said that Jake will redshirt this year. I realize that not every freshman can start his first year, but I was hoping for a shot.

Either way, he should be the guy to take over this team in the coming years.

jembeurt final roster:

QB: Jake Rudock (Iowa)
RB: Jameel Poteat (Cin)
FB: Travis Riley (UNC)
WR: Ty Montgomery (Stan)
WR: Lanfonte Thourogood (Van)
OT: Matt Hegarty (N.D.)
OG: Cyrus Hobbi (USCe)
C: Monte Golden (Mem)
OG: Trey Braun (G.T.)
OT: Brendon Austin (Stan)

DE: Aaron Lynch (N.D.)
DT: Mo Latu (ASU)
DE: Nathan Hughes (Okla)
OLB: Tony Steward (Clem)
MLB: Travis Hughes (UNC)
MLB: Steven Daniels (B.C.)
OLB: Davon Moreland (SMU)
CB: Jabriel Washington (Ala)
SS: Johnathan Aiken (Rut)
FS: Ron Tanner (tOSU)
CB: Thomas Finnie (Miami U)

Through the first couple of rounds, I was unhappy with the way my draft was going. I think I got really good players, but the player #1 on my board in the first 6 rounds, was taken each time before I was able to select him. Maybe that is why I felt that way.

After finishing the draft, I have come to realize that this team, just like last year, doesn't have much flash, but is overloaded with substance. Very sound players, with high intelligence and football smarts. I would say the strength of my team is the athletes I have at multiple positions and my front seven. Excluding my QB, I have four guys who played QB, as well as their projected position for college, in high school. My center and DT are interchangable if need be. My MLB Travis Hughes rushed for 1200 yards and 20 tds, as well as being one of the top Mike LBs in the counrty. I also have 6 early enrollees, in which all are receiving PT in spring ball, with some starting.

All in all, I can't wait to see what the next four or five years brings for this class.

But I don't think anyone will sub them into their starting line up though.

Alfredo Morales, OG, Texas Tech. He's going to play with his brother and that should be very good for chemistry. I expect him to get some early reps if he can gain a little weight this summer.

Believe it or not, but the two guys I am hoping to grab I could swap with my starters and feel fine with the moves.

One guy for sure, but I would have to wait until he gets in school to see if he would get the starting nod, which I think he will.

The other guy, I was fully intending to take with my pick, but not until late in the draft. During the draft though, I was in a spot where I really had no one to draft, so I "upgraded" at that position.
