It really hasn't been that bad. I can pick my few guys for my next pick and just wait until my turn comes up again.

Suggestions for next year:
Lets wait until Mid March so the rantards have left after NSD.
Not as many teams as we originally started off with. I think the group we have now is pretty good.
Get info from everyone before hand so you can contact them regarding their pick, etc.

Overall, it's been a good experience and way better than the our coaches suck, our qbs suck, our o line sucks and why can't we get better recruits threads.

Which way would be more fun:

Waiting until the after NSD lull and picking with the previous NSD in hindsight in terms of who signed where and whatnot

OR.

doing it toward the end of summer for the next year (thus before NSD) and having to use a little more of your own know-how to watch video and choose the best guys and pick them using offer lists as well instead of being influenced by where they signed? This also eliminates people from scrolling down the Rivals 250 list and only picking by that as well as picking all LSU guys.

Just a couple of thoughts I've had about different ways to do it next year!

I vote this for a few reasons:

1-I think where a kid ends up has quite a bit to do with how I value them.
2-I need the list!!!!

No way dude. Would take too long and require too much time devoted to looking at all of these players. Also, what if someone does not qualify, goes to JUCO or Prep, etc. Too many factors. If we were dealing with smaller rosters or fewer teams, maybe.

There is a reason there are PAID scouts who do this for a living.

I'd want to do it after NSD. I looked at the previous recruiting classes and depth chart with most of my picks.
ie: My two tackles have the posibility to start as freshman or redshirt freshman and I wouldn't have picked Lache if he had gone to LSU because of all the running backs. I also looked at coaching, etc. I chose McVey because he is going to be the ILB at tOSU. I thought Parker may have been better, but McVey will probably get more pub and opportunity at tOSU IMO.

Definitely after NSD. The other way would be very difficult for one and also, you never know what will happen with kids in the recruiting process etc. And sometimes a kid has a great junior year and then falls off the map his senior year. Just too many factors.

I definitely agree to wait until after NSD. That's how I chose a lot of my guys, especially toward the end since I started thinking in terms of earning points.

I was just throwing the other idea out there, not necessarily advocating it.

My wife hates it I play devil's advocate and support/argue for something I don't necessarily want myself just so that there's even consideration for all sides.

Oh I'm very much the same way. I tend to try and look at things from all angles. Definitely over analytical.

I would like to formally cast my vote (if I have one) for how we do the "supplemental" round. 5 guys have "Enfuego-ed", leaving a total of 37 players without teams. I think we should re-draw the order and have one round (fine with me if Dan and Harry get picks 1-2 based on the misfortune of their guys). Each guy would basically have the OPTION to upgrade one position if he chose to. There are enough studs on this list that everyone will benefit equally enough IMO. You would have to release a player at the same position as the supplemental pick.

In the order that they were selected:
Dominique Easley, DL
Chris Martin, DL
Lamarcus Joyner, CB
Marcus Lattimore, RB
Jeff Luc, LB
Matt Elam, S
Ivan McCartney, WR
Cassius Marsh, DT
Luke Joeckel, OT
Darrius White, WR
JC Copeland, DT
DeAndrew White, WR
Phillip Sims, QB
Alfy Hill, DE
Jesse Scroggins, QB
Malcolm Jones, RB
Michael Palardy K
Justin Hunter, WR
Corey Nelson, LB
Storm Johnson, RB
Munchie Legeaux, QB
Ricky Heimuli, DT
Christian Thomas, TE
James Louis, WR
Brent Benedict, OT
Deontae Cooper, RB
Dior Mathis, CB
Laurence Gibson, OT
Telvin Smith, LB
Zach Lee, QB
Chris Jones, WR
Carlos Thompson, DE
Tharold Simon, S
Rajion Neal, RB
Skyler Schofner, OT
Craig Sanders, DE
Quinton Dunbar, WR

Thoughts?

I like this idea the most.

Also, I'm fine with being anywhere random. I don't plan on switching out Coleman, even if it is the demise of my team.

I think we can do a round that way and then perhaps reassess and see if another round is warranted?

I get this. As pathetic as it may sound, I have grown attached to my guys. Perhaps to the point of passing up a 2nd or 3rd rounder to keep a 13th.

shite does and will happen to all of our picks along the way.

There are a few exceptions, however depending on who makes it to my pick.

Are we still waiting until after the draft to pick the new order?

I think that's the best approach. But if the masses insist, I can draw it out whenever.

This is the reason why my vote is to let those guys stay in limbo. I would rather see if I drafted well with a 22nd round steal that to draft in the 22nd round and then trade him out for some guy that was picked in the first 3 or 4 rounds. It almost gives me a umh feel, but if I am out voted I will still pick.

I'm not a big fan of the supplemental round at all to be honest. I didn't draft a QB until later because I have two or three small school QB's in mind and I missed out on my CB and OLB I was looking at as well because I waited too long. If I get to trade Eric Bennett from ArKansas for Lamarcus Joyner or trade my currently unpicked OLB for Jef Luc, that doesn't seem fair at all. Also, there are 22 teams left and about 36 players. I'm not sure how that will work out either because someone at the end of the round will end up not getting to replace a position with someone of the quality that someone at the top of the supplement draft was able to. (ex. If BayouCat picks last and needs a WR, but all the other WR's are gone and it's a bunch of 13 and 15 round WR's that people traded for 1st and 2nd rounders he gets left out a little.)

Just IMO, but I'll go along with what everyone else wants to do.

Also, Dan and Harry, I really think you guys should get an extra pick, whether from the guys who went Enfuego or just an extra pick at the end of the rounds.

My rationale is that if those teams had never participated, everyone would have had a shot at those players anyways. So you COULD have had Jeff Luc instead of a different LBer or you COULD have had Marcus Lattimore instead of a lower ranked RB etc.

I'm not sure if many caught my post a couple pages back, but I think giving Dan Luke Joeckel and Harry Brent Benedict works out pretty well.

As far as the draft, I also have grown attached to my players. Although, ivii (one of the Enfuegoed) did take a few of the players I was targeting by picking right ahead of me. I would probably only go after his guys.
