as some posters stated Shaun Lewis I passed on him and I think he got pick 3 before making it back. I also missed on Justin Parker at LB.
Byron Jones at DT I would have took him in the 3rd round but I thought he would go under the radar and drop and again got picked 7 infront of me. But thats why there are 1000's of recruits so you can find another.

I would have liked to go after more secondary players earlier, but I started looking and I don't know if I would trade any of the people I picked for anyone drafted after I picked. Being able to get Mylan Hicks in the 13 round softened the blow a little.

Calvin Smith Round 12. I nearly took him earlier in that round but I decided to wait, thinking he'd fall because he's going to New Mexico, despite having a lot of major offers. But Lynx gobbled him up. I really wanted him as one of my 3-4 ends, but there's probably 7-8 guys I wanted at end and it so I'm satisfied with what I ended up with.

I really wanted Ricky Heimuli. I passed on him in round 4 because I wanted to get Jaques Smith, and figured he would be gone by my next pick. In round 5, Heimuli was taken by ivii, ONE PICK AHEAD OF ME!
Might have worked out for the better though, because I was able to get a lot of other good players and still pick Josh Watson in round 13 to take his place. Watson is already third on the depth chart with a junior and a senior ahead of him. He could be starting as a Soph.
Another mishap is taking two OT so early. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE my two tackles, but good value was available much later in the draft. I still feel that with 2 top five tackles and a top 5 guard, my line is going to be very good, but I could have picked up some better value at the time. Getting Justin Parker and Toney Hurd Jr. softened the blow.

Victor Beasley - LB (Clemson)
6'5, 225
4.51 40yd
From Scout:
Size is the first thing that jumps out about Beasley. He height, length, and build are three things physically that really makes him stand out in a crowd. In shorts or in full uniform, Beasley looks like a man that has the frame to move on to the NFL one day. Experience is one thing because there are still questions on how and at what position he will fit in college. he will need to be able to turn and run with tight ends and move in space.

Give me OJ Ross, Slot WR, Purdue
5'10", 175 lbs
Film
I've had my eye on him for quite some time now, and hoped he would continue to slide. This guy is a nice compliment to my two trees on the outside at WR. He ran a 4.36 at the Orlando Scout Combine and is a consistent 4.4 guy. He also returns punts/kicks effectively. I think he finds the field quickly at Purdue.

I'll be out of town the next 2 days. Dan has my list of things I want to do the next 2 rounds.

I was surprised you wanted Brad Wing, but whatever floats your boat man.

Shhhh. Keep that on the DL man. Now everybody is going to want him. I figured other teams would have to teach there QBs Jim McMahon like drop kicks and pouch kicks on 4th down and WRs how to kick off like Chad Occocinco, I'll have an advantage.

Gideon Ajagbe OLB signed with Florida.
If this kid doesn't get caught in the ridiculous depth chart UF has, then he could be a steal this late in the draft. He committed very early on (April) and still had 7 major offers. He shows great lateral movement and excellent quickness. Personally, I am surprised he isn't ranked higher.

William Russ is where it's at.

Just wondering how Nate Askew was selected as a TE? He's a legit WR prospect.
Posted on 4/1/10 at 3:16 pm to The Yetty
Probably the same reason someone drafted Fobbs as a cornerback. Would probably get more PT there, whether it would happen or not is a different story.
As far as Askew, if he tacked on 25 lbs or so, which is highly likely if forced to, he could be a great vertical TE. Whether that would happen or not is a different story.
I could have done this with multiple players, but I just tried to stick with their listed position. The only player I have that is a toss up is Robert Woods. He is compared to Charles Woodson with his CB and KR/PR skills, so I put him at CB. He is the #1 WR on Scout. But with all the talent at WR USC has, he would be better served as a CB.

If you could change one thing about how you planned out your team, what would it be?
In hindsight, I wish I would have opted to run more of a Rich Rod with Pat White style offense. I'd rather have a mobile QB type that is a thrower by second nature. Although my favorite philosophy when it comes to real life recruiting is pro-style (because I think if you prepare guys for the NFL recruits eat it up), I love Rich Rod's type of offense under Pat White... always exciting to watch.
ETA: I say this mostly because this QB class is so spotty but having an athlete at the position more or less guarantees some measure of success if he's a good runner. And there's still quite a few good running QBs available even now.

Some interesting notes:
-4 eligible players from the ESPN Top 120 haven't been taken.
-All Rivals 100 members taken
-Despite being top 100 on Rivals and ESPN, Demetrius Wright was picked 150th overall
