With the 348th pick in the Tiger Droppings Recruiting Board Mock Draft, OBUDan selects:
Corey Cooper, SS
I like Cooper to fill out my secondary for a number of reasons. Primarily he's a bigger safety, and I was looking for a guy who will come up and play the run a lot. At this point he's a better pass defender, but I love his size and physicality for coming up and delivering a blow. He's fearless going after guys. But he also plays receiver so when he does get picks he can do some damage in returns. Not the soundest of tacklers in terms of form, but can definitely lay a fool out. I like him to continue to grow and become more of an in the box type of safety that can add some help in coverage.

With the 349th pick, Suntiger selects Alex Welch, TE out of Notre Dame.
A true tight end at 6'5", 225 lbs. Good blocker and decent receiver. I really think this is one of the steals of this draft this late. USC signed a bunch of good TEs, but that will mean one or two of them will be left out. I liked Haywood and Volger a lot, and think Volger might end up being really good, but I beleive Brian Kelly will get Notre Dame on the right track offensively(
). They have some good qb's and didn't sign a lot of highly recruited WR's, so they will have to throw to someone and TE's do ok in Kelly's system.

I don't know if you know it, but Coxson was #74 on the Athlon Consensus 100.

That sucks.I REALLY wanted that guy. Just noticed he was available. He is the most physical WR in this class. Blocks like Hines Ward. Watch his film if you haven't. Nice pick.

Hey Dan, can you text jc77 to see if he wants Smiley as a RB or a FB? I would just like to know for drafting purposes.

I watched a lot of his film, which is why I took him. I had a tough time between him and Malone. But when Malone was taken, my choice became obviously easy.
Malone was very intriguing because of the stats he put up. 45 touchdowns in TWO seasons is ridiculous, no matter what classification. Not to mention, he had 12 as a Soph.
But with Creecy's physicality, he was going to be my choice even if Malone was there.

I thought that Guy would probably slide a little bit longer, but since he was one of the last true nose tackles left out there, I didn't want to miss out. This guy is a little short, but has great size and he did very well on the camp circuit. Rivals has him rated fairly low, but a big space eating NT is one of the cornerstones of the 3-4 and this guy will play the roll well. I was planning on running a 4-3 until I drafted Chris McCain and I think he will be a freak rush OLB, enough so that I changed my entire draft strategy for him.
My class is shaping up nicely, I'm still not sure if I'm going to go after a big nasty FB and run a pro style or if I'm going to try to get a speedy pass catching RB and do a dual RB shotgun set, but I've narrowed it down to those two. I think that Dyer is the crown jewel of this class, and I have two solid O/T's, which makes me want to run a pro style, but it really depends on who's available at RB and who I pick up for OG's.
QB - Blake Bell
RB - Mike Dyer
RB
OT - Andrew Donnal
OT - Jimmy Gjere
OG
OG
TE - C.J. Fiedorwicz
WR - Tai'ler Jones
WR
DE - Denzel McCoy
DE
DT - Jay Guy
LB - Chris McCain
LB - Tevin Jackson
LB - A.J. Derby
LB
CB - John Fulton
CB
S - Marquis Flowers
