Suntiger Selects: Quinton Spain, OG
Not a lot of guards taken as the guard position is not one usually heralded in football. With a lot (and I mean a lot) of OT off the board, I grabbed what I consider to be one of the top three guards in the country this year besides Hopkins and E. Washington. Thing about Spain is that he's athletic enough that he could possibly play RT if WV needs him to. However, at 6'5", 330 lbs he would be a dominant guard where he should excel at run and pass blocking. And unlike Hopkins and Washington, Spain is the best OL prospect West Virginia has signed in a while. With Juwan James and Spain anchoring my OL, L. Seastrunk should have plenty of room to run for Team Suntiger.

Before I make my pick, I wanted to throw out that I was considering taking Patrick Hall, who is a surefire stud, because according to ESPN he was a non-qualifier who resigned with USC this season. However, I think that may be unfair, so I'll make him ineligible for everyone if I can't have him.

With the 179th pick in the Tiger Droppings Recruiting Board Mock Draft, OBUDan selects:
Christian Bryant, CB
I was really sweating this pick out. Going back and forth about 5 or 6 guys, trying to estimate who I thought would and wouldn't be taken by the people after me. Then I flipped on this highlight reel. I made it 45 seconds before saying, "That's the pick." I could really let his picture above do the talking (#2). Simply put, this kid is just a football player. Latwan Anderson is his flashier, more exciting counterpart, but Bryant is exactly what I want in a corner: physical. He's not afraid to come up and lay a lick on anybody. He doesn't have elite, gamebreaking speed, but he'll make a living off jamming people at the line and never be a liability in run support. I intend to build my defense around a dominant pass rush, so his lack of deep speed should be protected by a good rush (in theory). But, again, you guys should really check out that tape. Kid is damn impressive. Kid plays with a frickin' attitude. IMO, you know you have a defensive stud when they wake up every morning like someone pissed in their cheerios. He may not be the measureable king, but the kid just oozes ball player.

Why is Vincent Sanders listed as a DB in the position breakdown? I figured he would definitely be a WR.
