Have you looked at your roster in respect to the rosters of the rest of the SEC? Winning will be very difficult for LSU

Why will it be difficult? We only play those three teams six times over the course of the regular season. Those three teams are potential top 10 teams. No shame in being worse than them. Making the NCAA tournament and advancing is the goal, which doesn't require beating any of those three teams.

Not good, but I doubt Gathers is one and done. LSU certainly wanted him and needed him, so anyone that says otherwise is an idiot.

That said, I believe I have been consistent in my posts in saying that Gathers was important and a good player, but not a superstar or program changer.

I will wait until the entire recruiting class is in to pass judgement.

We cannot even recruit in our own back yard let alone bring in all these kids from across the country. TJ's "connections" suck or he sucks at using them. The program is not in the right direction as far as recruiting talent.

LINK Maybe Trent needs to call up this guy again and see if he can help him out. scroll down page to picture of Jalen Courtney and Andre Stringer and check out the article.

You also play UK, Vandy, UF, and I'm sure a decent non conference schedule. I think making the NIT may be a bit of a stretch, much less the big dance.

Let's not get overly dramatic. Gathers is the first major Louisiana recruit of the Trent Johnson era. He hasn't lost anyone, until now.

For LSU he might have been, I don't think LSU is in on anymore top 30 type players like Gathers.

He's a top 30 nationally ranked in-state player. He is supposed to be the cornerstone of the class.

Remember towards the end of the basketball season when the argument for keeping Trent was that we would lose all chance of signing Gathers and Bridgewater because recruiting relationships have to be developed from the player's freshman and sophomore year of HS. Guess that's another excuse by Trent defenders we can throw in the shitter.

Well Felix will be going elsewhere soon enough for it to be two.

I said he was important for LSU.

He is ranked 34th overall and the 11th best PF. I would say the majority of players at that ranking level are solid players, but not stars or program changers.

Johnny O'Bryant had a similar ranking. I expect the same from him.

Gathers >>>> O' Bryant

I was hoping Anderson would offer Gathers and maybe get in on him, but he is after other kids.

Maybe for good programs but since we have just one player on that level(O'bryant) he very well could be a program changer. Even if he's not I'd rather have him than a whatever the backup plan to him is.

Me too. That's not my point. I wanted him to sign with LSU, badly.

Saying someone won't be a superstar is not a criticism. Just a fair opinion. Lots of very good players are not superstars or program changers.

My point is our team sucks and a very good player could be a superstar for us. Even if he's not on the Big Baby/Bass/Stromile level and he's just say on the Ronald Dupree level that's still a gigantic loss to a team with nothing close to that level.

I doubt a single person here will deny the magnitude of losing Gathers.

This is a cup check to the TJ supports, including myself. I am finished. This sucks, no more excuses.

That doesn't help Trent in his attempt to stay here. He better put together a great season because it looks like Javan Felix is heading elsewhere to

Felix is going elsewhere. I told yall Gathers wasn't going to sign here too. Victor will sign elsewhere as well when it's his turn to sign on the dotted line if Trent is still around.

Just FYI for the board, Victor picked up a Duke offer two weeks ago while playing at the Adidas AAU Tourney in Indy.

Gathers or not, he will be judged on this season. If he tanks this year, I don't think having Gathers signed would have saved him. If he does well, not signing Gathers won't hurt him (from a job security standpoint).
