And of anyone cares, he's at the Riverside - Cuetis game tonight. TJ that is.

Ross Neltner was a good player in the wrong system. He did well at Vandy.

Let's take a closer look at the word "good."

I liked Neltner, but I think Brady wanted a banger, and that's what LSU needed. Neltner was a 12-15' out big man. Apparently, Brady never was able to identify the type of big he needed, because Garrett Green was basically the same player..... with shockingly similar results.

That would be me who said that. I helped put chairs out for TJ to sit where he wanted. I still say he didn't talk much to Rico. Maybe rules say he can't speak to a recruit more than X amount of times. But he carried himself like he was the greatest in the Land.

Gathers family is not poor and if he passed on LSU for cash then you must believe BAYLOR paid in full.
We can't prove either. Notice Byrd never commented on TJ's coaching ability!

Now that RG is gone the great recruitor will find someone of greater or equal ability like LES did in the last minute.

When I originally read that Gathers said LSU "wasted [his] time" it struck me the wrong way. How is a coach allegedly not visiting him enough "wasting" his time? What was he expecting? Did Trent waste his time by not offering cash, a car, etc.? Whether that's what Gathers meant that's what I thought of when he made that comment. I'm really getting tired of the games these kids play. Just make your choice and be man about it. Don't lie, don't look for illegal benefits and quit it with the stupid press conferences where you try to "shock the world." Honestly, where are these kids' parents and why aren't they guiding them better? Showing your immaturity and dishonesty on national television is only going to hurt them in the long run.

LOL. His coach's quotes disprove just about everything you asserted.

Gathers chose Baylor because he wants to play for a contender...not because Trent Johnson wasn't around watching his games. If you were as close to Gathers as you pretend to be you would have known that.

The criticism Johnson deserves is for missing on him...not for effort.

It is in Byrd's best interests to repair any problems with LSU caused by Gathers comments. Byrd has other kids inhis program to worry about and he isn't going to let a departing kid ruin a relationship with the state school

That being said I believe Gathers was speaking from his misguided heart and he sounds like a woman scorned. So what did TJ do or not do that "wasted his time?"

That is the biggest question

Basketball recruiting has always been nasty. Not difficult to think that in the dirtiest of recruiting sports, a high profile flipper may not have had some dirt shoved his way.

Really?

I said I saw Trent at games in the past. I know both sides are exagrerating, includeing summer leagues and special tournaments in the last 3 years it would be hard to say they've seen him 200 times.
Were talking about Gathers because he was a player that many felt could be landed by LSU.
And I could pretend to introduce you at the St Aug game. He'll remember me I've know Timmy Byrd since he was a jr. in HS.
My kids don't go to RA anymore so I haven't seen him play this year. But would like to.But you need to get there early to get a seat when St. Aug. comes.
