Haleigh had an appendectomy today…get well soon Haleigh!

Oh man - she looked so rough the last few meets (in terms of tiredness, etc and she had some uncharacteristic mistakes), maybe this would explain it. Like she had the beginning of appendicitis - hope she feels better soon!!

She never fell on vault and bars before until the last two weeks but she didn't seem well at all at regionals.
Hoping she feels much better after surgery.

Congrats to Konnor. That is as close of an AA finish as I can remember with this new code. Or maybe it’s just because Simone dominated everything for so long.
Hope Haleigh heals well. I’m not glad we didn’t make it to Nationals or that she didn’t get a spot as an individual but I am glad she’s not missing out because this would have taken her out, for sure.

Hope she didn’t hurt herself when she rain into the vault. She rain off kinda humped over after.

Konnor had an amazing meet. She went on to win both event finals she was in, beam and floor.

And congrats to Zoe winning bars over Shilese. Hope this gives her the confidence she needs moving forward.

Also, as soon as legally possible, I need the coaching staff to go after Tiana Sumanasekera! I know she’s a California kid but I’d love to see her at LSU. She’s only 14 but she’s beautiful to watch on beam and floor. She won the junior AA, floor, beam, and vault titles at Jesolo.

This is an interesting take on what had to happen in Regionals to get Missouri to the Natty Semi-finals.

If I am correct, competition starts Thursday, with 4 on the floor Saturday. Is that right? Wasn’t it Friday and Saturday in the past, with no day of rest in between?

Yes, they changed it this year. It’s better for the girls, but I think it makes it harder for spectators.

Thanks, that’s what I thought! I thought we always arrived on Thursday, competition on Friday and Saturday, and traveled home Sunday. But I didn’t go last year and wasn’t going this year anyway due to other things going on.

If anyone is interested - through two rotations in the first semi final, looks like things are playing out as expected, with OK leading, Utah in a relatively close second and a larger gap between the top 2 and Alabama. Seems unlikely, absent an error from the top 2, that Alabama will advance.

I’m surprised that the crowd isn’t bigger. A lot of empty seats.
Posted on 4/14/22 at 2:20 pm to TigerFan112
Probably because it was 12:00 on a Thursday

Yeh, I think this new format will generally hurt attendance. People may not be able to take off Thursday, and will probably be less willing to plan a trip around a potential Saturday meet that is dependent on a competitive Thursday one. It may reverse trend for the night session, though.

Makes sense. I just never saw empty seats like that on the Friday sessions, even the early one.
