Why wouldn't we want another school to up their game like Kentucky did? I think the more schools in the mix the better. Gets a little boring if the top 5-6 are the same every year. Kinda like football the last few years. I would love to see LSU, Penn St, Utah, and someone else not named Alabama or Clemson. As for Emma I think it was probably mutual leaning to the LSU side. And also some people on that fb page are just plain stupid!

Let's all be honest: Emma hasn't trained consistently in years. I commented in earlier posts that I did not see how she fit in with the 2020 class (or future classes). I am happy that she will continue her gymnastics career. I'm excited to see her at Arkansas.

Anyone know why people are making such a big deal about Emma’s decommitment? I thought she made a fairly nice Instagram post about the situation. It’s crazy how many people really dislike LSU. Can’t wait til they win the championship this year! #geauxtigers

Because Weiber has UCLA ties and thus can do no wrong...the same people that dragged EK for her choice of clothing on a school spirit day and hate all things MLR are now praising her for going to Arky...it’s ridiculous.

I’ve watched elite gymnastics for years and started watching college gym in 2016 (I know - late to the party) but what’s the fuss about LSU? I’m guessing it’s based on how well things have been for them for awhile now? I enjoy watching them and I’m planning buying a ticket when they come to compete at OSU in Feb. since it’s not too far of a drive.
Edit to say that I do know some of the history with coaching changes etc in the past decade etc. I guess if a Pac-12 team got hot and started pushing Utah or UCLA off the top of the mound scoring wise there would be some frustration as well.

LSU has a giant national following in gymnastics. They seem get a lot of hate from others because they aren't blue bloods in this sport and now are reeling in a lot of top kids that typically went to the Georgia, Alabama, UCLA, Utah's and Floridas of the world.
For whatever reason gym fans can be a bit deranged. Many hate LSU strictly because many of the athletes here are very religious. Why that bothers people I don't know. Sarah Finnegan got hammered this summer because she didn't openly support abortion because of her beliefs.

Does anyone know why Caitlin Smith is having surgery? Also, how bad is Kai’s foot injury? She’s been in a boot since September.

I could be wrong but I thought Kai has been training consistently and the boot is something she wears when not in the gym. This isn’t uncommon. Macadaeg wore a boot an entire season and competed beam every meet. She had a stress fracture the entire time but it wasn’t in danger of getting worse and the boot was just precautionary when not training.

I was under the impression that Kai's boot was for protection also.

Only make official announcements for the kids who sign NLI's not the walk ons.
Ballard, Brock, and Rau will be on the team next year. I anticipate Brock and Ballard competing sometime sooner than later though. They are very strong walk ons.

I am really looking forward to LSU vs. Florida vs. Alabama these next few years. Each has some strong recruiting classes coming up.
