There are so many elites from gage that LSU needs to try to pick up. I have yet to see a gymnast from there not be a major scorer in the NCAA, the technique and artistry is second to none.
Texas Dreams has been good to LSU as well. I think Campbell will end up a good one for us.

So I just read the names of the gymnasts attending the verification camp. I read that college coaches are allowed to attend. Is this a new thing going forward, or is it because all the coaches threw a fit? I wonder how many coaches will attend?

I thought coaches weren't allowed to attend this must be new. My sources now tell me UCLA looks like a slight favorite at the moment. LSU definitely closed the separation over the last 4 months and took a lead for a bit but UCLA apparently has a lot of momentum

I hate to hear that about Trinity. Is she in the class of 2018 now? People have been saying she graduated early because of a post on Prestige's instagram. Maybe when she goes to this verification camp, she will feel right at home.

She is 2019 I think but I don't think she reaches anyones campus until 2020. If I were her I would try for the olympics. She easily could make that team with proper development and upgrades over the next couple years.
This opportunity is once in a lifetime and it be stupid to pass up. She really needs to try to make it. Even though I want her on campus ASAP, I understand very few have this opportunity.

I honestly don't know at this point, i know it was the plan before but her recruitment is a little weird. No one knows too much and she doesn't talk about it to many people

I’m such a huge fan of her’s. I may stroke out if LSU was able to snag her.
I’m getting so impatient waiting on Trinity’s decision. Another one I may stroke out on if it’s for LSU. I think it’s very refreshing though that she’s taking her time, but it feels like decades waiting on it in comparison to when others commit.
Also, come on down Lizzy! She would be so huge for next year. It looks like she is really into OU too. Please, please don’t let that happen. Like they need another excellent beamer.

Trinity's recruitment is beyond bizarre. Some of her recent trips to UCLA have been sketchy as well with some of the "benefits" she has received. At this point from people I talk to and coaches, its UCLA to beat. Literally all her close friends are committed to UCLA or already attend UCLA. UCLA has been pullin all the stops out for her. I hope as she comes back to LSU and see's the campus and trains in the world class facility it will really help showcase what life would be like

Lizzy is looking at LSU, UCLA, OU, Michigan, I can confirm all but I know other major program have reached out.

Ugh I hate to hear that about Trinity, but I’m really not surprised. It seems all her closest friends are going there. How are they pulling all these elites nonstop? Is it because as an elite they feel famous and feel like they should be in LA? I know this sounds so bad, but if we can’t win the title this year, I would much prefer OU take it again. I just can’t deal with UCLA, and I really don’t know why I feel so much hate for them.

UCLA is a prestigious school. It historically is a blue blood in the gymnastics world. UCLA does come with its benefits of bein student athletes (award shows and other special events), its a very flashy/famous lifestyle there, especially as a gymnast. They are treated like celebrities.

I do believe finally winning a national title well help break the glass with some of this.

I would love for Trinity to pick LSU but it is very possible that she ends up deferring in order to make a run for the 2020 team. If that happens it is possible she would either come to campus late (and completely worn out like Harrold was) or even wait until the 2021 season to compete. Also, 2 more years of Elite training trying to make the team could result in who knows how many injuries along the way. This is the reason we have seen UCLA and Florida struggle despite pulling in every Elite star they can. On paper they should be #1 and #2 by a long shot every single year but it has been Oklahoma and LSU the last couple of years. Now saying that, it looks like Florida and UCLA are finally figuring out how to make it work with their Elites.

Verification camp was a major success.
Many of the junior elites were blown away from the facilities.

LSU is getting a lot of flack from images that surfaced of our practice gym showing us claiming the 2015 and 2016 SEC Championship. They are obviously claiming the Regular Season titles but that didn't begin until last year and it does seem like quite a stretch to go back and claim any that you would have won in the past. It isn't really a retro-active thing even though we can go back and see who would have won every year. I noticed they also have 2016 hanging on the banner in the PMAC, can't remember if they have 2015 on there or not. They really should remove those. Just have 1981 and 2017 for Tournament Champs and 2017 and 2018 for Regular Season. Begin winning more titles if they want more on that banner.

Perhaps someone should ask LSU what it means, before jumping on the criticism bandwagon created by known haters of LSU gym (not you). It’s just a banner in the practice facility; it’s been blown so out of proportion imo, like LSU committed a felony! If that’s all they can find to bitch about, it’s a good day.

I’m embarrassed by it to be honest. I went to one intrasquad in the fall, and I was surpised to see it. I knew the gymternet would tear LSU apart when they saw it, and rightfully so in my opinion. LSU should not be claiming titles that didn’t exist at the time. We are better than this, and should feel confident about being a program that’s on the rise with more titles to come that would rightfully so be added to the banner.
Now, I think it’s ridiculous that we are two days after the camp and the gymternet is still ripping LSU about the grammar issues on the wall.

have to find a way to knock LSU since no ones facilities come close to LSU. Many are just bitter that USA gymnastics chose LSU for this verification camp in the first place. But yea they need to take those banners down and only have 2017 for the regular season title. We will be able to add 2018 as well for this year too.
